    Hidden in wall beer tap

Hey all, I'm in the process of having my house built. I have a 4 tap keezer but want to have it in the basement out of view on the main floor. I want to run a PVC or something while the walls are open for easy install later once it's all closed and the house is built. I'm planning to run 4...

3-wire 240v electric brew pot controller

So I have recently moved into a town home where the only available 240 outlet is 3 prong. I have a perfectly good e-herms control panel that I was using in my previous home that was 4. It's not worth me re-wiring the home/electrical panel as I will only be here for 1 year. However I would like...

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

I just ordered 5 different extracts from capella. I'm going to brew 6 gallons of this stuff and use the ringwood yeast for fermentation. I'll then divide this up into six 1 gallon secondaries using no extract, popcorn extract, vanilla cupcake, hazelnut, frenchtoast, and graham cracker. If they...

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

That makes a lot more sense. Of course my PIDs are located right above the SSR and heat sink too. At this point ill run the risk of having to replace a PID a little sooner than planned. Thanks for the inside kal. Corey

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

I pretty much followed Kal's guide but decided to use a single-gang box instead of 2-gang. I felt it would look cleaner mounted to the side of the cooler. http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/heating-elements?page=3 I did have to bend the heating element a little bit to prevent it from...

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

Not a bit. I've reached in to touch right after the MASH/sparge after it's turned off. I definitely wouldn't even say its hot, its warm. Also, I'm using a pretty small cramped enclosure and still no problems. I'm not sure if the SSR temp issue is overplayed or if i'm just getting lucky. It's...

    water filter system- hop rehab

I put together the water filtration system finally. Cost for everything was $60.85. It was very simple to put together. I got the RV hose and filter on Amazon and the rest from Lowes. It was a fun little project that should save me money (buying water) and my back (lugging buckets of water). -Corey

    Auber RTD wires

I did without issues. I soldered and used heat shrink wrap. Accuracy was spot on once I fired up the PID. Corey

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

Update... I got some vinyl lettering to go on the keg. I think it adds a little something to it. I should have polished it but I didn't think i had it in me.

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

Newest addition to the Hop Rehab home brewery! For now i'll still be boiling with propane, but I plan to be moving back to NY soon, and then it's 100% electric :)

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

Good point. I too have an external on/off switch for the alarm. This had reduced the aggravation of the alarm tripping. For the most part I always have the timer running so there isn't much of an issue but I have found that to be annoying during the sparging and cooling processes when the timer...

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

To me it was a no brainer to go with the jsl-71 mostly for the reason that it better matches the look of the auber PIDs. The asl-51 is all red where the jsl has the same, red top green bottom, color combo. I can't comment much on the functionality difference as I've never used the ASL-51. I can...

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

At this point you might as well just hang onto that last bottle and save it as a memory of your award winning beer. A trophy of sorts. Right now I have one bottle from all 17 batches I have made on top of my refrigerator. I plan to eventually make a nice shelf to display them. I started doing...

Went with a large enclosure. Suggestions?

I went with a digital picture frame on my control panel and use my brewery logo as the displayed image. It also has a digital clock on it which has proved to be suprisingly useful even though I also have an auber timer. With the extra space you could always upgrade to the bigger auber PIDs. 1/4...

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

I made a label for my first brew on the electric system. I keg my beer now but I still bottle one and make a label for it. it serves as a wonderful memory once it's gone. :(

    New Basement Brewery Build

I've been following this build since the beginning. Excellent job man. It's turned out really awesome! I'm very jealous but also very excited for my turn once i'm a home owner. I cant wait to do something this outrageously awesome! Any plans to get labels for your control panel? Everything...

    Countertop electric build-- please help?

Have you read Kal's website? It answered a ton of questions for me as far how it works what it is. I like you, started with little knowledge on the subject but managed to figure it out with many many hours of reading/research. theelectricbrewery.com Corey

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

Finished brew number 2 on the new system. Brewing itself is a blast and I hair my gravity. The cleaning process still sucks, no matter how great the equipment. :)

    Hop Rehab E-Herms build

It's very high tech software made by one if the software engineers for apple... No no just kidding. Its a simple digital photo frame. I have the photo frame switch between 2 images my brewery logo and my internal wiring diagram. I wanted to add something different besides a power on/off light...
