Haha. 12 gallons each sounds good. I will be leaving 28th, 29th, 30th, then will be at home every day afterwards till I move, so you guys figure a day out that works for you, figure out who will take the barrel, and then send me a PM if I don't respond to you posts. I'll try to check in again...

Ok guys, we all knew this time would come, but I'm moving, and I won't be taking the barrel with me. House is going up for sale tomorrow, so we've got a little bit of time, but not a ton. What should we do? I won't be taking any of it with me, so it's a free for all. If anyone wants the...

I could be back as early as 1245 to help out those who work. We can be brief. Someone needs to bring a thief and star San. Also, I have 5 gallons of Flanders red, one year old and a saison Brett clone available if anyone wants to bring a corny over and take them. They're ready to bottle.

This will be a good time for us to figure out what the hell we're going to do with this stuff. I have a daughter swim lesson at noon on Sunday, should be back for anytime after 1pm.

I got an unexpected visit from the inlaws followed by an unexpected visit by my parents. Both worlds colliding this entire week through the 1st of July. Must wait till after that.

I got my hands on some star san from a friend to check on two other carboys I found in my closet. Since I had everything out I checked the barrel. We're at just a hair over 5 brix now, so somewhere around 1.01-1.02. I would guess we've got a fair amount of Lacto in there, the sample I pulled...

    Brett Beer Saison Brett

I just found a 6 gallon carboy of this in my closet that's a year old almost. Tasting good!

Starting to warm up in the garage and hopefully the bugs are slowly waking up again. Whenever we do the meetup I'll need someone to bring sanitizer so we can sample. I still have a wine thief here somewhere. I also have someone's plastic ferment bucket and lid still too. What are...

Heady Topper- Can you clone it?

Those guys have no idea what is in Heady and that clone they sell tastes nothing like it. Waste of money.

I'm curious, how many of you are still active here? It seems like everyone is gone, even though we planned to meet up soon to try it.

Heady Topper- Can you clone it?

Damn, it's a shame this strain is going downhill so fast. Sabotaged?

I had to clean the airlock out yesterday on the 6 month mark and got a pull of the brew. It's a crystal clear straw-gold, covered with some lacto and pedio. Fairly well soured at this point. Tastes good. I think it needs another summer but we could consider doing something with it as soon as...

Glad things are going well! Our barrel is now nearing it's 6 month birthday! It's been cold, so I'm sure most of the bugs are sleeping waiting for summer to come. Really curious to see what it tastes like

    Conan Yeast Experiences

The first step or two are peachy only because of the actual Heady topper that was in the starter, that's what you're smelling most likely.

    Conan Yeast Experiences

@DangerRoss..thanks! Not brewing, just browsing :) @BeerGrylls... Really? That is very interesting. I haven't really any insight on that, but I'd like to think I would be able to tell straight away if I tasted Heady and it was a different yeast. It did seem to me that John was noticeably...
