    Fermentation stuck or refractometer weirdness?

Maybe, but a lot of people on both sides use both first of all. 2nd, once fermentation begins, the refractometer is far less reliable. But tbh, its really to each their own. Plus its looks like you know what your doing holding a refractometer vs a hydrometer, lol.

    Fermentation ok?

Honestly, using a hefeweizen yeast, like any of the available White Labs options, the optimum fermentation temperature is usually at most 70 degrees and the best is ideally more like 68. You can usually type in the yeast strain number into their website (WLP 300) and it'll tell you the basics of...

Favorite immersion wort chiller (5 gallon batches)?

I agree along the lines of mirthfuldragon, I think you're thinking it too much. The longer you have your wort off boil and not in a sealed fermenter, the more likely you are going to get airborne bacteria into your final product that can cause of number of problems and off flavors. 2 hrs is just...

    Fermentation stuck or refractometer weirdness?

Just my own 2 cents worth, hydrometer is always the best option I've ever either used or seen used by breweries. That's really your best best.

Did Someone Say Beer? Newb Here

Welcome and good luck man. First off, never spend any more than the minimum you need to make sure you're all in before you spend too much. If you end up not committing, you didn't spend too much. I wouldn't recommend the glass version for all the reasons above and also back to point 1...

    CT Brewers Check-In

That's cool. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what's going on locally. I should be moving up there next month from south of Hartford. I've been away from the forums for a while. Seems like things have quieted down quite a bit from the looks of things though. I guess all those micro brews...

    CT Brewers Check-In

Not much activity here, bit I figure I'd try anyway. Moving to the Enfield area. Anyone up in the northern section of CT?

Washington Richland, Wa (Tri Cities) Homebrew Club.... Any Interest?

So, I've been in the area for a year and I know that there must be people who want to meet up in the Richland area and maybe set up a homebrew club in our neck of the TriCities. Any interest, let me know. We can meet up at a local place and talk.

Washington Richland, Wa (Tri Cities) Homebrew Club.... Any Interest?

I'm fairly new to the area, but I am aware of the home brew club that meets up in Kennewick. However, I would like to see if there is any interest in a new club to be held on the other side of the Tri Cities. The idea is to meet up at one of the Richland area micro breweries/local watering...
