    Keep warm to start fermentation?

75-78 is pretty high to pitch. You're likely to get some major off flavors. Of course it depends on your type of yeast too. I usually pitch my yeast at about 64-67 and leave it there if you can. Happy brewing!

Bottling day! Am I the only one who enjoys it ?

It's not my favorite thing to do, but yeah, it can be relaxing and gratifying to get to crack open that bottle when it's ice cold and ready to pour. I've also recently switched to kegging and am glad I did though

Can I bring keg to room temperature after it's been chilling?

I thought about that, but I hate the bottling process unless I absolutely have to. I'll just keep it pressured and try and keep it as cool is possible. Thank you!

Can I bring keg to room temperature after it's been chilling?

Hey all! So I've recently had an ESB my chest freezer with a temperature controller at about 39 F for for three weeks. I've left the PSI at about the recommended amount of about 12 PSI with this temperature. My question is this: I'm going to brew an amber ale tomorrow and this needs to...

I'm glad I searched for this. I just kegged my first batch today and had the same questions about the psi drop! Thank you!

    Please help new kegger!

Crisis averted! So all I had to do was put it facing down and as soon as I heard this, I could hear a very loud hissing (since it was at 30 psi). I then checked the pressure relief valve at it was hissing loud! I did that about 8-9 times as what i've seen so hopefully my beer wasn't ruined...

    Please help new kegger!

I tried again, turned the co2 valve to the left from down, and cranked it up to 30 psi. After about 30 seconds, the pressure relief valve hissed a little bit but not much. It's been running for about 3 mins at 30 psi and I've tried to pull up the pressure relief valve and now I'm not getting a...

    Please help new kegger!

I just used a sanitized knife to press the gas poppet and I heard a little hiss. I've also sprayed some star san out of a water bottle to check for leaks and I don't see anything bubble up. My worry now is that c02 is not getting in the keg and therefore I'll probably have oxidized beer. Is...

    Please help new kegger!

Tried that and I tried the second connection on the manifold and I can hear the hissing. Normally, do I need to wait a certain amount of time to purge it? Does it need to stay at 12-15 psi for a certain amount of time?

    Please help new kegger!

So I am as new as new can be to do this kegging stuff. I have a two keg set up but am only filling one of them at the moment. I bought the set up through kegconnection, so it came with the taprite dual gauge regulator, hoses, ect. I've just transferred the beer from the primary to the keg...

    Removing posts of ball-lock

Thank you all for the replies. It did turn out that whoever tightened the one post, went a little out of control. I poured near boiling water on it, and then used some more force and this finally did the trick.
