    Perlick Taps and Sankey Couplers

    (3) Perlick taps all chrome plated. $50 shipped for all three. (2) sankey couplers $30 shipped for both. This is stuff I had lying around that I never used. I would suggest replacing soft goods. Visually they all seem fine and operate. One of the perlicks is a little tight.

Not sure I understand proper probe placement with HERMS...

msjulian I know this is reviving a pretty old thread, but I was wondering how your sensor placement worked on the coil exit with the PID controlled HERMS bypass, I made a very similar system and am struggling to get my PID dialed in correctly. I am using it in on-off mode. Would you mind...

    Wort Chiller in Central PA

Ok I will sent pics as soon as I can get them next week. I did the test with my 3 gpm topsflo pump and the valve wide open, I'm sure if I did it by gravity or throttled the valve that It would have done even better. I think the 3/8" tubing is key, it allows for better heat transfer because you...

PID controlled 3-Way valve Wiring Help

Hello all, I am going to use this: http://misolie.com/showshop.asp?id=358 valve for a HERMS bypass loop and plan on controlling it with an Auber SYL-1512A PID in on-off mode. The idea is that by incorporating a bypass loop I can contol the HLT temperature separate from the mash temperature...

Brewing Solo vs. Brewing with a partner(s)

Haha this is great! I experience the same euphoria after I brew. I also think its pretty funny that people have been brewing for thousands of years and probably thought the same thing :ban:

Brewing Solo vs. Brewing with a partner(s)

Although extra hands are nice, I think if I was going to brew with a dedicated partner they would have to be as serious about it as I am. I can see how it would be beneficial to have someone of greater or equal passion and knowledge of brewing with you to get the creative juices flowing. :mug:

Brewing Solo vs. Brewing with a partner(s)

This question has been on my mind the last couple of times I have brewed: do you prefer to brew solo or with others? Personally I feel as if there are benefits to both; If I'm brewing a new recipe or experimenting with new equipment I like to be solo simply because It take more focus. However...

    How do you aerate?

I pour my wort back and forth between by kettle and fermenter through a strainer. Serve the purpose of straining the wort and the mesh really seems to help introduce air by breaking up the stream as I pour. I do this until the bubbles reach the top of my 6.5 gal fermenter, which only takes about...
