Yeah but it's too much, more than normal.

Overcarbed my stout, need advice (serving with beer gas)

Well I just found this thread so this might help. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/overcarbonated-70026/

Overcarbed my stout, need advice (serving with beer gas)

Okay so I have this stout that's been sitting in the keg for a while and I brought it out for a party this weekend. I didn't think I had carbed it at all yet so I hit it with 25psi overnight thinking that would carbonate it just enough then I could connect the beer gas and serve as usual...

    Forward Sealing Faucets worth it?

I think they are great. I also got mine for a good deal on eBay for $27 each. If you can get a good deal then it's a no brainer.

    Stout Faucet

And for the tank you should call around before you buy anything. It can be difficult to find people to fill them and they may have their own particular rules about the tank and then what kind of valve they need. Some places might swap them out also which might be easier.

Metallic aftertaste on stout w/ nitrogen

Yeah I have it set at 30psi. I'll have to check the beer temp but it should be mid- to upper-30s in there. And I do it just like you are suggesting with the clean unchilled glasses and the Guinness pour so I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just sensitive to it, or need to turn the pressure down...

Metallic aftertaste on stout w/ nitrogen

I did shake it a bit when I was carbing it initially but it's been a week now since that. And yes I am using a stout faucet.

Metallic aftertaste on stout w/ nitrogen

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if it's normal or a result of something in particular. My stout that I'm serving on nitrogen (beer gas) for the first time has a sort of metallic aftertaste at the end. I've Google'd and it seems like this is normal for some stouts. I...

    I froze a KEG!!

The carbonation level should be what you expect it to be for the thawed temperature. There's nowhere else for the CO2 to go but into the solution and the headspace.

    Drinking Room Temperature Beer

I do not care for it personally. However as others point out, room temperature varies and in TX it can be near 80 degrees...

Going to Ireland, any recommendations on cool stuff to see/do?

Will be over there for almost 2 weeks, starting in Dublin and driving around the country through Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Cavan, Portrush, and Belfast back down to Dublin. Any suggestions on beer-related stuff to check out while I'm there? Or any kind of stuff...

Lost half my new beer gas tank to a faulty disconnect :(

Hmm I'll take a closer look at it. In the end, victory is mine! I hooked the other one back up to the CO2, looks like it just needed a good tightening with a wrench. Now I feel even dumber, heh. Oh well at least I have my stout.

Lost half my new beer gas tank to a faulty disconnect :(

So I *finally* got around to hooking up my beer gas system for my first stout on nitrogen. Hooked everything up yesterday and things seemed tight and snug. Should have probably turned the gas off and made sure the nozzles were at the same spot the next day but hindsight is 20/20. Anyway after...

Favorite Beer you buy to save the bottles?

I like the Guinness Draught bottles. Like the beer and the label is not glued on and easy to remove. The little widget comes out easily with needle-nose pliers too.

Here are some pics of my Fuggles and Kent Goldings at a little over 2wks. Not as fast as some of the other ones seen here but they seem to be doing well. :)

    Anyone bought from BeverageFactory?

Me too. I even called them once after placing an order to see if I could add something and the guy was nice enough to go find my box and put the item in there before it shipped out.

    Aphids!!!!

I have rose bushes near my hops so I suspect I'm going to run into this aphid problem. I'm gonna check HD or Lowe's for an insecticide for veggies that can control them.

How long will a 5# tank last?

It will always be in the red zone in the fridge. And most people say that a 5lb tank lasts around 8-10 kegs.
