Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Yes, but the connectors are 1/2” to 3/8” reduced. https://spikebrewing.com/collections/conical-accessories/products/temp-coil-quick-connect-fittings-1

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Spike’s are 1/2” to 3/8”, I believe. I looked for alternatives on Amazon for the connectors and tubing insulation, but went with Spike’s in the end out of sheer convenience and minimal to no cost savings going another route. Do you *need* them? No, not really. You could slide the tubing...

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

Here’s Here’s the TC weldless fitting on the Anvil lid. Hole was a bit difficult to cut evenly with the Dremel, but the gasket seals fine. Took 30 mins or so. Easy to take apart to sanitize and clean. Cool thing is the TC fitting now works with my Spike conical accessories (CIP ball, blow off...

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

I’m going to be boring out my lid to accommodate a 1.625” weldless 1.5” TC with a Dremel this afternoon. I’ll post the results. I don’t think it will be too difficult—the stainless isn’t very thick.

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

I was thinking of doing the same. I believe the fitting needs a 1-5/8” hole, and the hole on the fermentor is a little smaller. #7 stopper. I’m just going off of this sizing chart for stoppers. https://www.sciencecompany.com/Black-Rubber-Stoppers-Size-Chart.aspx

    My Brew Rig build

The high temp paint works fine, but the top of the stand will get marred over time, simply due to moving the kettles on and off. The paint on the top will cure after a brew session, or just heating some water in a kettle to get the paint up to 600°. It will get that hot, by the way, so tell...

    My Single Tier Brewing Stand

I used Rustoleum high heat 2000° paint. The surface where the kettles sit is a bit marred, due to moving the kettles around on the stand, but the rest of the frame looks great. I did sand the frame before I painted it. Also, the paint needs to be cured with heat. I ended up painting the frame...

BTW... here's a video of my two March pumps doing a whirlpool. I never really posted any photos of my completed kettles and pump-valve setup, so here it is. Cheers

    My Single Tier Brewing Stand

Very cool! I see you used the copper tubing for the burners. It works quite well and looks very clean. I also like the placement of your switch box. Makes me wonder why I didn't put mine there, ha. It's really cool to see some of my modifications make it into your final design. Congrats on your...

    My Single Tier Brewing Stand

Thanks! Luckily, I've had my kegs for quite a while, collecting dust, so I was lucky on that front.

    Weldless. Working just fine, too.

    My Single Tier Brewing Stand

It's working great, now that I have all my numbers (boil off, etc.) figured out and dialed in. I initially had a false bottom in the brew kettle, with a secondary filter covering the dip tube to filter out pellet hops (which worked just fine), but I ditched it for whirlpool type setup, with a...

    My Single Tier Brewing Stand

I got the lids from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PZBEPE/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 They are aluminum. They're kinda thinner than I wanted, but they fit pretty well on the keggle and were easy to modify. Only downside is that they get hot and are a bit tough to handle. But the...
