    Cheap swing top bottles

    I was at trader joes the other day and they have this beer Nero's a dark malt and I forgot the other.. not bad tasting and $1.99 for a 16.9oz swing top full.. thats cheaper than any empty swing tops I have found. Gonna go buy a 12 pack just for the bottles. I'm in the bay area.

    I just filter tap water and I believe my tap water ph is 7. Guy at the LHBS said it works well. Have you used it? Im not sure it did much but maybe it will change the flavor profile. ?

    I used ph5.2 hoping to get better conversion but still ended up with 70% efficiency after 75 minutes at 150F BIAB, 1.070 for my OG.

    Thanks for the tip, im thinking now I might lower the rye or eliminate it all together, the hops were for just a IIPA and rye was a last minute addition. I'll run it by the LHBS see if they have flaked. I'll post back with the final recipes

    The blackprinz malt was a little over roasty so I did a 4 day dry hop with 4oz amarillo before kegging. Tasting pretty good 4 days on gas!

    It was fermenting steady at 63 then dropped to 59 and stopped, thats when I brought up to 68 but it never restarted. My mash temp was pretty stable. I have never checked my ph i just use filtered tap water. I will look into that next brew. Hopefully it taste ok after a few weeks.

    Im stuck at 1.020, I brought the temp up to 70 and it's been there for 5 days now.     mash/ferment temp for ESB?

    That's a good idea I will . the last 2 brews I had stock got stuck at 1.022 also had to add sugar to those to get them to start back up.

    My thoughts exactly the OG was 10 points higher than expected so I was going for a mid 5% beer anyway and looks like I got it.. I want to keg it now it taste so good.
