American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

Accidentally did the 15 minute hop addition at 30 minuets...Wasn't paying attention to the recipe. So I skipped the 15 minute and did the 5 minute and 1 minute addition. Can I sort of compensate for this by doing more for the dry hop?

Anyone have a good hopy recipe ready in 3 weeks?

My friend decided to throw a holiday party December 6th and I want to have a keg for it. I was looking for something on the hopy end. Perhaps hopy pale ale/session IPA. I assume these would be nice to drink young with the low ABV and high hop aroma that you want fresh. Does anyone have...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I have 1 oz of Summt remaining from my last brew day. Could I substitute the FWH addition of Citra to Summit without major changes in taste if i calculate our the correct IBUs?

Did i kill my container hops?

This year I started a couple hops in containers with the plan on building a garden and transplanting them into it this fall. The pots were not alrge and frankly I probably did not take very good care of them this summer. They often got dry and went unfertilized. Well move onto the end of...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Brewed my 60 minute clone (now named Train Wreck 1) this weekend as a BIAB All-Grain. Everything went very well and my temps were basically spot on. I ended up splitting the hops up with my scale so that every 2.5 minutes I was making an addition. It ended perfectly with my last addition at...

    Ball lock vs. pin lock

I just went through this. It largely seems to be personal preference as well as your size limitations. Pin locks are slightly cheaper as there is less demand. The biggest difference in my opinion is size. I went with ball lock Kegs because with my kegerator setup I could fit 2 ball locks but...

    Toss Yeast or Re-try Starter?

I was using a stir plate. Gravity reading sounds like the logical idea...of course i never thought of it lol.

    Toss Yeast or Re-try Starter?

I made a starter from some yeast slurry on Wednesday. The Light DME that I used was rather old but I still assumed that it would be ok for a starter. Well I added 1500 ml of water and 150g of DME. During my short boil it did hot break, foam up, etc as normal. However when I poured the wort...

    El Diablo!

I purchased the Flying Dog Raging ***** kit from them last month. It came with their Belgian yeast which seems to be called El Diablo (at least the best i can figure out). My OG was 1.082. Took it down to 1.012

    Keggle conversion

Go slow and don't use much pressure. It took me A LOT of passes to finally start cutting through but I couldn't be happier with how the cut turned out.

    First BIAB gravity question

I would say to have left it at the 4 gallons if it was at the correct OG.

BIAB 21# grain bill possible for 10 gallon batch?

Do 5 gallons. Learn your process first and it will be MUCH easier only dealing with 10 lbs of grains.

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

Just did a high gravity beer with this method. 18 lbs of grains and hit 75% efficiency (1.080 OG at 6 gallons). It was still a bit of a rough day lifting and squeezing that bag even with a deck overhead to run a rope. The only problem was that my boil off rate wasn't as high as much as i...
