    Need to find a LHBS

I've moved and I can't seem to find a LHBS near me! Help! Anyone know of a LHBS on Cape Cod?

    Corking question

Okay, so I've been corking my mead since I started brewing a couple years back. I've recently read that if a cork isn't kept moist it can shrink and allow air into the bottle. Is this true? If so should I store my mead horizontally to keep the cork moist? Would sealing the cork with wax...

    Apiaries in Maine

Anyone know of any good apiaries or other sources of honey in Maine? My Google-fu must be weak. All I can find anywhere near me is a place that has a broken website and a phone that nobody answers :(

Mango Melomel (complete with humorous annecdote!)

Well, I brewed up some mango melomel yesterday. So my recipe for this one was simple enough: 8 lbs frozen mango chunks, thawed, and run through a blender with some water until liquid-ish 15 lbs Clover honey (SueBee, nothing fancy here) water to 6 gallons Once the honey and mango juice were...

    WLP099 (super high ABV yeast)

Has anyone tried using WLP099 yeast in a mead? According to its fact sheet it can tolerate an ABV of up to 25%, but can be difficult to work with. Any results to report?

    Pumpkin mead

Okay, I'm thinking of trying a pumpkin mead as soon as I have an empty carboy (which should be soon-ish). All the threads on this topic seem to be old, and I don't want to start resurrecting zombies, so I was thinking about something like this: Buy Pumpkin ??? PROFIT!! More seriously...

    Ideas for—and some help with—cyser

Hey, I'm going to be brewing up a 1 gallon batch of cyser this weekend. I'll be picking up the apple cider from a local orchard tonight, but I have a few questions before I get to brewing. Is there any consensus on the best yeast to use for cyser? I'm thinking Lalvin 71B will make it nice...
