Finally got around to trying the Personna blue's (they came today and I shave at night). It's a top contender for sure. Very pleased

Or do what everyone else already said because I'm late to the party again. If you're not using the blade buffing technique, you're not getting as good a shave as you could...works for straits and DE. Give it a goog.

There is a web sight "whipped dog" that I have heard a lot about. They have a "sight-unseen" straight razor deal that seems like a good jumping off point. http://www.whippeddog.com/products/view/sight-unseen-razor The razors are honed and shave ready and they get good reviews on the shaving...

I've got a dual leather/canvas from Straight Razor Designs but it was my original with my first straight. It works very well but I nicked it up a bit as a novice. Really should get another. The hardware on his strops are very nice

Congrats to all! No luck on my O-Fest though. Really thought I had a great one. This is going to require more field tests ; )

Do they list the ingredients on the 1752? It happens every so often where shave soaps are shave soaps by name only. A good formula will have a combination of potassium hydroxide and often sodium hydroxide (seen a few without it though) steric acid or oils high in steric acid are also...

Belgian Dark Strong Ale The Pious - Westvleteren 12 style quad - multiple

Way back on page 83 I started discussing my 2nd attempt at brewing CSI's Westy 12 v.19. I'm pleased to say, even though it stalled and I had to re-start it with a second pitch, it took 1st in the Belgian Strong category in the VA Dominion cup this year out of 21 beers in the category...

Tricky to do. Your correct that hop oils are naturally antibacterial but true hop oils are very expensive and a potential allergen for your skin. Rancidity is also a concern unless you use synthetic fragrance or petrochemicals/preservatives. Beer, on the other hand, makes awesome soap. The...

Thanks Pappers! Yes we do sell on line at http://www.perfectlynaturalsoap.com/product-category/shaving/ We do some farmers markets in the Hampton Roads VA area in case any locals want to actually touch the stuff. There are a lot of soapers out there and my wife comes from a business...

I bought a lot of feather blades in the beginning and I liked them when I first started. I was amazed at how much closer of a shave I seemed to get. After 2 years of wet shaving and poking around a bit, I am settling in on Astra blues and Personna blues as my top picks for blades. (I use a...
