Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

i just visited my parents in Philly. While there were a variety of excellent Victory ales in the fridge, they quickly disappeared with multiple drinkers. By the end of the night we were into Coors Light special marked for the Superbowl. I should have known....there was a layer of dusty fuzz...

    party pig?

I bought a pig last month and love it. I don't have the space to keg and this little pig saves a lot of time when bottling. As for popping the pressure pouch, I had to put the rubber pump on the floor and pump it with my foot. It actually tells you this in the included directions. If you are...

Anyone brewed a Russian Imperial Stout Brewer's Best kit????

I made the BB Russian Stout and have been very pleased with the result- big malty/chocolate flavor and nice warm alcohol mouthfeel. I bottled this batch about 5 weeks ago and each bottle over time gets tastier. Great creamy head and good lacing. I look forward to making this again and...

    Psychology of another person's homebrew

I now have ten batches of homebrew under my belt. I remember popping the very first bottle and was elated that it actually worked in the first place and fell in love with the flavor. I have managed to keep a few bottles of each batch to reference whenever I want to see how my brew stands up to...

    Fastest Bottle Carbonation?

I could not wait any longer and got into a hefewiezen after six days "just to see". Great carbonation and actually kept the a creamy head until halfway done drinking. Not that I am impatient, but I usually get into my brew right at seven days, and keep a log. This way I can see how the beer...

    Whats your favorite yeast(s)?

I recently brewed a steam beer with the White Labs San Francisco Lager yeast. It fermented for nearly a month at 58-60 degrees and the resulting beer is incredible. Very clean flavor with a subtle almost a strawberry nose. Nottingham is pretty good also- has never failed to give quick and...

    Yeast preference poll

My attempt at a steam beer...I did nearly the exact procedure as billhauser---I used WLP810(san fran lager yeast) -pitch at 77, and it took a good 24-30 hours before it got a steady bubble. I have never aerated my wort when using dry yeast and have had good fermentations. The advice from my...

Pete's Wicked Ale Bottles - be aware!

I have found if you soak bottles in hot water it usually gets the ball rolling. Then I found a wire brush from the bbq grill is unstoppable. If you cant get it off with hot water and one of these brushes give up!

basement temp is a consistent 66

I have a steam beer going in a closet which is against the outside wall of a spare bedroom. I keep the heater vent closed and the room stays right at 60. Fermentation has been going steady for 7 days now with WLP810. This will probably get racked in another 2 days, let it sit for about 3...
