I think I might have messed up my force carbonation...

OP here, I think the lesson to be learned here it to just give it the time it needs. I set the pressure to about 25psi and have been monitoring every few hours. No shaking and I am getting more dissolved CO2. However it tastes green and is pretty cloudy (although it's an American Wheat so I do...

I think I might have messed up my force carbonation...

I followed this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ_YGcJEcOc and it seems pretty straightforward. I turned up to 30psi, laid the keg down on its side, and rolled it back and forth for about a minute, and then disconnected the gas and let it sit for 24 hours. I hooked up my gas and beer...

    Important Statement From Midwest Supplies

Got this PM from Midwest. More kicking the can and overall lameness. I really wish Midwest would just discuss this out in the open. The overall lack of public disclosure is what most people are mad about. I'd still like to see a public reaction on how they plan to change their actions in the...

    Important Statement From Midwest Supplies

Sadly, I feel we won't get any. They've already issued us the blood money and posted this sad excuse for an apology on a long weekend to minimize visibility.

    Important Statement From Midwest Supplies

I'd really love to hear a reply from MidWest about their practices and how they're going to prevent this from happening again. Having to deal with my bank and not having my card for over a week was a giant pain in the ass. Until I hear back from MidWest I will never shop there again and...

    Important Statement From Midwest Supplies

All the apologist here who 'understand' don't understand that this wouldn't have happened if you were PCI compliant. Why are you even storing our numbers? Why aren't they processed then discarded? This is really unacceptable. The inconvenience I suffered when someone racked up over $700...

Arduino Stir Plate (digital speed control)

Don't get me wrong, I love DIY and understand it's about the journey and not necessarily the destination. But there is DIY and then there is reinventing the wheel.... Also, a sort of an aside, but people run to microcontrollers far too often when either discrete components or *gasp* analog...

Arduino Stir Plate (digital speed control)

Isn't this overkill? For $70 you can go out and buy a lab stir plate, that warms too! I know winter is long, but...

    Kegerator Conversion with Danby DAR440BL?

Awesome, I can't wait to see what it looks like all done. Merry Christmas!

    Kegerator Conversion with Danby DAR440BL?

Thanks for everyone who's contributed to this thread. I think I'm leaning towards this fridge for my build. Has anyone had any experience putting a copper pipe up tower to cool the lines on the this fridge? I've seen it done on the Frigidare build but haven't seen it here. I'd really like to...

If my OG was higher than expected, will my FG be higher than expected?

If you're talking about the temperature correction slip, I'm in the area that is considered 'no correction'. I haven't seen any other slips about a possible 6 point correction. I just have a standard triple scale hydrometer, is there anyway to determine if there is an additional correction needed?

If my OG was higher than expected, will my FG be higher than expected?

This is correct, the recipe was an extract that was topped off. So are you saying that it's possible that I took a denser sample because the sugars are not evenly distributed in my fermenter? This would make sense because I my thief was towards the bottom of the bucket.

If my OG was higher than expected, will my FG be higher than expected?

The bill was... 6# dark LME 0.5# rolled oats 0.25# chocolate malt 0.25# roasted barley and I used Wyeast 1084 which is 71-75% attenuation.

If my OG was higher than expected, will my FG be higher than expected?

I brewed an Oatmeal Stout about two weeks ago an the target OG was 1.046, but I ended up at 1.052. I just took a sample because I wanted to bottle this weekend and the gravity is now at 1.018 but I was expecting to be a little closer to 1.012. Am I okay to bottle, or should wait another week...

    Racking Wine to Secondary

Thank for all the help everyone. I checked on it today and the gravity was 1.005, which was below the minimum of 1.010 to transfer, so I went ahead and racked to secondary. Thanks for all the input everyone.

    Racking Wine to Secondary

This is my first wine kit, so excuse my nooby-ness. I started a wine kit last weekend, and according to the instructions, I should be racking into secondary on Sunday. The only thing that is concerning is that it is still actively fermenting. Should I rack to secondary on Sunday regardless of...

Interest check for BrewPi, a Raspberry Pi fermentation controller/data logger

What kind of work load are you concerned about? From what I've gathered about this project, it's pretty much going to be a temperature logger what serial communicates to the Pi, trips some relays, and possibly runs a display, that's a pretty light work load.
