    Propane tank use

I get 7 boils out of one tank. To do this I usually only do the final boil on the stove top. The mash water and sparge water get heated on the stove. When I boil, I open up the valve to full blast until It really starts moving, then I dial it back as low as I can go. It also helps that I built a...

    Storeing my beer

It is generally accepted to age beer in the 45-60 degree range. Big, heavy beers like to be in the 55-60 degree range while light lagers and wheat beers like to be in the 45-50 degree range. The higher the alcohol the higher the temp. Personally I don't age anything under 8%abv unless it...

I was listening to Pandora while brewing yesterday and a really HOT version of Birdland played by Freddie Hubbard and the Allyn Ferguson Big Band came on. And yes...Vinyl does sound better. I just like pandora's variety.

    Cry Havoc WLP862

Sadly, Due to the current temperatures I cannot lager at the moment and I doubt the yeast will be viable in the fall when the weather cools off. Maybe I will just slap a simple brown ale together and see how it works.

    Cry Havoc WLP862

I have a spare vial of Cry Havoc in the back of my fridge. I was planning on making a lager this past winter. Sadly I never got around to it. What kind of ale will this yeast strain lend to? Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks!
