Got free bottles to give away? Post 'em here!

Got 12-15 cases of clean 12oz bottles to anyone who wants them. Most are sam adams. Most also have labels already removed, but not all. I'm in columbia, sc area. Also have a few 750 Belgians I can part with. When I finally get around to cleaning the garage, they'll all go to recycling.

Converting a steam kettle to gas burner

Great article. Thanks for finding that. If I can get a grand or two for each, I'm going to definately convert these things. Cept, I'll be converting them into cash, which will then be converted into a brew structure. :mug:

Converting a steam kettle to gas burner

Is it possible to convert a kettle from steam jacketed to something I can use with a burner? My brother has 4 he pulled from a job site. I'd love to have one of them, but I'm not going to waste my time if I can't use them.

4 Stainless Steam Jacketed Kettles 20 gal, 40 gal, 60 gal

If anyone is either starting a small brewery, or just wants an awesome project, my brother pulled 4 steam jacketed kettles out of a job site. Sitting in his shop in Charleston SC and doing him absolutely no good sitting there. These were still connected when he went in, and it's assumed they...

    Brew Sculpture Project!!

OK, I've been an extract brewer for the past 4 years. I've done one all grain batch that turned out ok, but, I didn't get near the effenciency that I needed, therefore my gravity was wayyy under what it should have been. I'm not positive when I'll do another allgrain batch, but I just scored a...

    Full vs partial boil

I've just thought about this question. I usually order kits from B3 or AHB. The instructions in their kits are for partial boils. Last night I did a mild stount from B3, but instead of partial, I started w/ 6.5 gallons of water, and the siphon started sputtering at exactly the 5 gal mark...

Last effiency question (I promise...fingers crossed)...)

Do you have a love affair with periods...... It makes it really hard to read. That and all the insults you hurl at people trying to help.

    Bottles with easily removable labels

I keep a cooler full of water/oxyclean solution in my garage. As i drink one, I dump it in to soak. Usually just forget about them, and they end up taking a week or so of a bath. Even dump belgian 750's in there for when I do a strong ale, or barleywine or something strong to bottle in them...

    Using oxygen to cool wort

The idea wasn't to use it to drop from boiling, but to find the change in temp that using it for the 2 minutes needed would provide. Then, you back that out and you have a new temp that you could use your immersion chiller to bring your wort to, maybe say 120 deg. Of course, if it's not really...

    Using oxygen to cool wort

I was chatting with a buddy last night about airating with an oxygen system and he said something that peaked my interest. I assume that the oxygen bottles you buy at the hardware store for this system is compressed O. When compressed gas is released, it's very cold. My question, could...

Great deal on a 10 gal cooler

I'm thinking about either putting together a quick 3/8" or 1/2" copper pipe false bottom (tubing put into a square) or doing the washing machine hose. Leaning towards the copper.

Great deal on a 10 gal cooler

All I need is a new burner to get 13+ gal boiling and I'm going all grain. Stopped by the Coleman factory outlet today to see what they had. Picked up a 10 gal beverage cooler for $30. It was an overrun for some Old Spice sports theme or something. Who cares, it's a liquor tank now. This...

Weldless Fittings vs. Welded Fittings for Keggles

I'm sure the fittings do get sanitized during the boil, but according to the new More Beer catalog, the bal valves will not be sanitized during the boil, and should be removed and boiled separately.
