    Boil coil Brewers?!?!?

Has anyone tried to whirlpool yet with a boilcoil? Results?

Will this cheap 3500 watt induction burner work?

I mean going into its guts and cutting a wire. I haven't been able to find a schematic for the cheaper 3000W+ models. However, depending on how complicated its internals are, it could be as simple as locating the signal wire for the relay controlling the coil or you may have to bypass the entire...

Will this cheap 3500 watt induction burner work?

Has anyone tried to use this to control the temperature? Say just trying to hold it at 150 degrees. Results? Googling how these units control the temperature, a few sources state they use Pulse-width modulation, rather than varying the wattage being put out. Basically it assumes some % of...

    Tart of Darkness

Same idea here. You guys pitching the full ecy20 vile into 5 gallons? To me ToD isn't too funky and ecy20 sounds like that's what it is going to make, funk. But the hope is for a funky stout that could go over some tart black cherries or cacao nibs and oak. We'll see what happens in a year.

    ECY on love2brew.com right now!

Per their Facebook page. "The limited release for ECY20 BugCounty is approaching (Nov/Dec). A few facts - there is no bulk yeast strain and no Acetobacter in the mix. There will be a total of 20 organisms in the culture: Brettanomyces yeast make up the bulk of the blend (15...

    1) how to use oak chips? 2) how to make it sour?

    1) Depends on how powerful the flavors are of the beer. You have to taste it every so often till its what you want. (maybe every week or so, then more often when its close to what you want). Some will boil the cubes or at least give them a few soaks to take out the initial super oak-ie-ness of...

My insane 25 Gal, 100 Percent Hard Plumbed Tri-Clover, Automated Tippy Build

Just a suggestion for the sparge arm idea. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/stainless-sparge-arm-idea-446565/ You could boar out the threads and tack a triclover to the center if you wanted it to be sanitary.

    Turbid Mashing with eHerms

Brewed my first pLambic or Lobic this weekend on a eHERM system. Given that the majority of the steps of a turbid mash is just increasing the temperature by adding hot water, the system would be able to take care of the majority of the steps. I would just have to remove the wort twice and return...

    Stainless Sparge Arm Idea

Nope, just run the sparge water through it as well. Once you run 2 or 3 gallons of 170 degree water through its clean as a whistle.

    Stainless Sparge Arm Idea

Time to share this Idea. Problem: eHERMS wort return was digging into the grain bed causing it to fluff up. Efficiency was low do to half the sparge water bypassing the grain bed and uneaven heat distribution. Solution: Sparge Arm...
