    30A 240v 3 wire control panel

Lots of 240v 4 wire set ups out there, if only I did more research before I built my house! I have a 3 wire, no neutral. I bought all my components & the book from theelectricbrewery.com, they have been great to work with. Is there anyone out there willing to take a look at my wiring diagram? I...

    boil keggle siphon

I'm building my first keggle, sounds like most use a ball valve with a dip tube to drain the boil kettle into the fermentor. Is there anything wrong with just using my auto siphon that I use to rack to my secondary. The wort would be cooled already and it would be one less hole in the pot. Am I...

    dishwasher sanitation

My dishwasher has a sanitation cycle that I've used to sanitize my bottles & it works. I've always rinsed the bottles under cold tap water just to cool them down a bit. Is that necessary? Will the heat give my beer off-flavors?

    cheapest all grain batch

Just out of curiosity, what is the ummm...most inexpensive all grain batch of beer you've ever made? This was part of my selling point to the houshold 'board of directors'(my wife) on spending all this money to go all grain...

    Copper sparge arm

I'm working on my all grain rig & I built this tonight, I had to use 1/2 on the outside & 3/4 on the inside to get a sipon going. I only drilled holes in the top half so the water would run speratically over the lower part, will this work?

    siphon questions

I'm going to be useing a 1/4barrel sanke for my liquor tank, i drilled a hole & am using a weldless valve on it. Because of where the ribs are I had to drill it up quite a ways on the side so I won't be getting the total capasity of the 7.5 gallons. If I add a line off the inside of the valve...

    inline water meter

I'm designing my brew rig & thought it would be cool to run a water line to my liquor tank & put a valve on it, has anyone ever used an inline water meter for this? I know it's waay not necessary, I could put lines in the tank, but I'm a gadget guy. They seem kinda spendy too, anyone got a line...

    Bayou Classic BG 12

Can I use an adjustable high pressure regulator for the BG12 burner? Then can I just get a valve to regulate the flame on each burner independently? Has anyone ever used copper for the gas line on your brew rig? Some people say the pipe can breakdown & clog the burner, others say they use it...

    Bayou Classic BG12

THere's gotta be someone out there who uses the Bayou Classci BG12 burners on their rig. Do you have a low or a high pressure regulator on it? I've Googled it & all I get is it's low & high depending on the site. I have 3 of them comming from amazon. Any input on these burners would be GREATLY...

    high or low pressure regulators?

I'm sure this has been discussed here but I couldn't find it. What are you guys using for burners on your all grain rig? Is it high pressure or low pressure? From what I've been reading it sounds like a high pressure burner will get you to a boil faster but will use more propane than a low...

    I need bottles!

Anyone know of any brewers that still use the returnable bottles that come in those nice, heavy duty cardboard boxes? Coors Light used to, Point up here in Wisconsin usedto. I have a hard time spending $13 for a case of empty bottles when I can spend alittle more & get full ones, even if the...

    Winter brewing

I'm switching to all grain. I live in Wisconsin & was wondering what everyone else does in the winter. I aaume you brew in the garage with the door open. What is the coldest outside temp you've brewed at? Do you ever go inside and(gulp) go back to extract?

    schmirnoff anyone?

Has anyone tried to make any of that Schmirnoff ice stuff? I haven't done much research & I have no idea what it is fermented from. But I do know my wife likes it & it would be cool if I could make something similar...any thoughts?

    how many btu's?

I'm fixin' to go to all grain(just ordered on new SS kettles!!), I'm going to build a rig & I'd like to buy just the burner & hose instead of buying one with the stand so I can save some money, but I'm not sure how big of a burner to get. I think I'll make a 3 burner setup & I would think the...

    first all grain

Will it work if I get a 15 gallon brewpot, a 10 gallon mashtun & use a 5 gallon round cooler for the liquor tun? Do I really need a 15 gallon mashtun? I'd like to maybe to 10 gallon batchs someday but 5 is good for now. I'm thinking I need 2 burners, one for the boil & 1 for the mash tun, then...

    new brew pot

I'm an extract brewer who uses specialty grain sometimes, I'm looking to upgrade my brew pot & eventually be an all grain brewer. I'm looking at the Blichman Boilermakers, they aren't cheap but they really aren't much more then other ones & they seam like the best...are they? I'd like some...
