    Hi from the UK.

Nope, it's me. Small world sometimes.

Keg of tonic water using Sodastream diet tonic?

Don't get discouraged from the lack of interest, sometimes it takes a while for it to pick up speed. If no one else appreciates your words you can be assured I do - Thanks!

    Hi everyone

    Welcome to HBT!

    Well, Hello there!!!

I think that's what winters are supposed to be. I look at winter as a break from the other three seasons.

    Well, Hello there!!!

Not sure about your area, but here in Wisconsin the winter was very mild, hardly any snow. Things were budding out too soon and the robins returned early. Strange year.

Keg of tonic water using Sodastream diet tonic?

Forgive me, but are we making tonic water, or some variation of it? Just curious. I have bought tonic water before in cans and have thought about carbonated water on tap.

What's a good base American wheat beer recipe?

Kolsch yeast is a fine choice! Good Luck!! I'm doing a wheat beer soon myself, not sure of the yeast selection yet though.

    Well, Hello there!!!

Congratulations! I remember those days when the little guys would pop up, such an exciting moment. Almost as exciting as the harvesting day, pulling down 16' high trellises and picking hop cones.

    Hi everyone

Welcome to the gang! No matter what you're fermenting you should find lots of excitement here.

    New Spike Fermenter Issues

Glad it worked out, but Spike has been great to work with so I would have been surprised if they didn't make it right with a replacement. Don't let OCD be an issue, if you buy new it should be free of defects, period. I have the CF10 and love it!

    DIY Kettle Hop Screen

Google search or try Amazon, lots of options out there. Just figure out the OD of your tube then match the grommet ID .

    Hola from Spain!

    Sounds delicious!

    Hola from Spain!

I'm with you, Belgium styles are one of my favorites too! I lean towards the malty side and if it's got a high ABV it best be balanced. My recent doppelbock is very smooth and clocks in at 8.5%. A nice summer sipper.

Using up stale bread and sourdough starter discard

My spent grain gets recycled back to Mother Earth, on a spot not far from my brewery. Kidding aside, I like what you're doing. I can't say I would but I appreciate how resourceful you are with something that would either be thrown out or fed to the birds.

    Hola from Spain!

Welcome to the group! I think ales and/or lagers are everyone's favorite beers.

Why didn't anyone ever tell me to buy a grain mill sooner

The mix of brewers out there is huge. There's folks that jump into the hobby with both feet investing heavily in every piece of equipment they think or someone tells them they need. Then there's the folks on the other end that gradually add items when they learn what they have and then make...

    DIY Kettle Hop Screen

I use a plate chiller too, and had those same fears of getting it clogged up. There's other types of filters to use, inside the kettle or external. The whirlpool doesn't add much time, IMO, it's just part of the brew day. Stir the wort then let it sit. I do other things during that time.

    DIY Kettle Hop Screen

I think a place like Arbor Fabrication or Utah Biodiesel Supply could fabricate something like that. Utah built a stainless steel basket for me to fit inside a quarter barrel keg.

    Getting back in to all-grain

    Welcome to the gang!

Trying to get back into the hobby

My filtering grant could be used as a hop back although I don't use it as such. It has crossed my mind to try it though.
