    Dilution?

    I pitched a 2L starter from a stir plate.

    Dilution?

Cool, I came up with 2.8 gallons as well. I'm not sure how I over shot OG so drastically. This was my first parti-gyle and I'm pretty sure I over thought it - as I have a tendency to do. It was 32 lbs of Pilsner, 5 lbs of rye and 3 lbs of dark candi. I hit my numbers for the 2nd beer, so...

    Dilution?

Is it as simple as... a 51.1% attenuation from 1.141 is 1.069, and a 51.1% attenuation from 1.090 is 1.044?

    Dilution?

I brewed a parti-gyle 3 weeks ago and ended up way high on the 1st beer's gravity. I was shooting for 1.090, but hit 1.141 (5 gallon batch). I was fine on the second beer at 1.045 (10 gallons). Anyway, the big beer's been fermenting for 3 weeks and is currently at 1.069. I'm concerned that...

    6 or 6.5 gallon carboy ??

Six gallon is fine for most situations, but if you ever intend to do a fruit beer (adding 5 or 6 pounds of fruit to secondary) or a wine kit, you'll need the 6 1/2 gallon.

Fred Hair of the Dog Recipe Help.

Did you get anywhere with this recipe? I tried Fred for the first time several months ago, but it's no longer available here so I'd love to brew it myself. Any help appreciated.

Made a mistake-- can I fix it?

If this is an expensive beer kit, I would get new yeast to make a new starter. There's no point in wasting a $30 kit for a six dollar batch of yeast

    How much is equivalent?

1 stick of true cinnamon = 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon = 1/8th teaspoon cinnamon extract

    Can these be salvaged?

If you're a gambler, it's an okay deal. Lids can be had for $15, the rest of the small parts probably another $25. Added altogether and it's slightly below what you would pay for a new keg. You just have to hope that they all hold pressure.

    Ah crap!!!

Dry them out and brew next week. You should be able to set the grain out and let it dry. You've basically just over condition your grain at this point. Do you have access to a mill, or is that the major sticking point?
