    Vaginal Beer......you heard me right!

Jeepers! All I was trying to do was encourage more guys to go down on their SWMBO's more often!

    Vaginal Beer......you heard me right!

This isn't the first time 'beer' has been made with yeast from somebody's hoo-ha. I recall seeing something similar probably five or six years ago. The problem with this is that 'human yeast' is any of a number of Candida strains, whereas 'beer yeast is (usually) one of the 'Saccharomyces'...

    Membership Anniversary

An interesting surprise: I noticed that today marks 5 years since I joined HBT. I think I made a wise move when I bought the 'Lifetime' membership. I've saved some money at this point. Woo hoo

    HomebrewSupply Recipe Giveaway

Belgian Specialty Ale - All-Grain Recipe Kit SWMBO loves Belgians. Sadly, I'm Irish. Despite that, she loves me; that makes me the luckiest SOB on the face of the Earth.

Help me pick a layout for my control panel!

"Form Follows Function". This is the golden rule in engineering design: Things look the way they do because they work better than other designs. I don't see labels in any of your layouts. I have no idea what any of the buttons or displays actually do. I would suggest, however, that you...

Hello from Upstate NY (Adirondacks, not midstate)

There's no "P" in "Binghamton". "Downstate" is generally -- and let me stress generally -- considered anything south of the line drawn from the Connecticut/Massachusetts border straight through to the New York/Pennsylvania border. It makes for almost a single continuous line. The US Census...

Hello from Upstate NY (Adirondacks, not midstate)

Absolutely not. Eastern NY, if anything -- but nobody calls it that. "Hudson Valley" or "Hudson River Valley" region, most likely.

Hello from Upstate NY (Adirondacks, not midstate)

I don't think anybody calls Buffalo 'Downstate'. "Western New York" is the accepted and preferred term. It's about as far as one can get from "Downstate" and still be within New York's borders.

My first Beer. Yeast, Water & sanitizer questions.

People have been making beer for thousands of years. None of our ancestors had access to fancy things like 'sanitation' or 'clean water' or even had any idea what this "yeast" stuff is. You'll be fine. Your beer will be fine, too. Wash your equipment. Use star-san or other sanitizer while...

    What is Wutrzberger?

Howdy, all. Years ago, in Dunkirk, NY, the Fred Koch Brewery made something called "Wutrzberger", and has been described as 'an old-fashioned German Beer'. Anybody know what this Wutrzberger is, or could be? It's my understanding that it was made pre-18th Amendment, but didn't return to...

    Newcastle Brown recipe change

Apparently, Newcastle has caramel color added to make it its distinctive brown color. But that'll soon be changing with the substitution of higher Lovibond malts. And if you can't trust the BBC, who can you trust?

Brewing Notebooks -- Style? Techinique? Content?

Hi; Original Post followup. Since I asked the question, I've seen that a couple of y'all have mentioned BeerSmith. I don't use BeerSmith. Not yet, anyways. For the longest time, it was because it wasn't available for Linux (early adopter: been using Linux since the early 90's, exclusively...

Brewing Notebooks -- Style? Techinique? Content?

Surely I'm not the only one who keeps a Lab notebook regarding my homebrew process. Am I? I know a number of brewers who treat their hobby like cooking: follow a recipe, use the ingredients as specified, boil for the required time, then do whatever else the recipe calls for during the...

How to order a beer at a National chain restaurant

Agreed. The best beer I ever had -- after years of homebrewing, myself -- was a pitcher of Bud Light with my granddad shortly before he passed.
