    Pin Lock Kegs - Good Deal?

    the only diff that i had issues with at first was the pressure valve. but my ball lock lids fit my PL, so its no longer an issue, i just rotate the lids.

    cool. did it change color after fermentation or was it fairly purple as wort? did you use any fruit? thoughts about O2 causing oxidation color change?

    did you taste it? thats the first thing that will tell you if you infected it. very unlikely that you have vinegar. ill drink it if you dont want to.

    Double batch fermentation advice?

    you can, but if you have any smaller fermenters available to you, id just let one sit, sealed up with no yeast, until your ready to put it all in the larger one. but you'd prolly be fine. you will be putting it at risk more when you have to open it up, unless you are transferring in a closed system.

    that will work. maybe toast your hickory a bit in the oven. bring out some of that flavor a bit.

    im in national city, ca. now. maybe i should update that info. haha. i was just researching the permit site. i plan on having it built from a shed company here, so i assume they will have to get me the plans in order to submit them for a permit.

    id say your temp on your fermentation is low. wb-06 can ferment at 12c, but ideally you want it up around 18. 12 is the lowest. id even go up to low 20s. with your mash temps, you should get a med body, maybe double check your equipment and make sure your temp probes are correct.
