    Easy Stir Plate

Here is an easy and cheap way to build a stir plate that just happens to be just the right size for a 2000 ML Erlenmeyer flask. Parts list: 1) A 2000 ML Erlenmeyer flask. 2) Large empty can of coffee creamer 3) A left over 12V 1000ma power supply from some broken appliance. 4) A rare...

    Fermentation Chamber

Just a follow up on the build. I have discovered that there are is an aspect of the build that I would change should I do it again. As detailed in the OT, I built metal panels to encase 2 inch hard insulation and just laid them against each other and secured them in place. I have...

    Fermentation Chamber

No, it is just some of the common home style gasket for around windows and such. It works well beacause it compresses well around the various cords I run inside for temp readings, small fan etc.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

I coiled a SS wire onto a round rod and then pulled the coils out lengthwise to form an open and elongated coil spring. I then inserted this into the SS braid. Works perfectly supporting the braid and is uneffected by heat. By the way, my 5 gallon Rubbermaid cooler has seen 6-7 batches without...

    Underground fermenter

Growing up in central VA, my dad had a "well house" that basically was an enclosure to house the well and its pump. It was an 8x8 block wall room 6 feet tall that was roughly 5 feet underground and the remainder above (picture a tornado cellar with a small peaked wood house on top for storage)...

    Concentrated Wort Question

I started out brewing 3 gallon batches in all grain and have all the related gear sized to this volume. For Christmas, I received a 6.5 gallon Mini-Brew conical and am now on my second batch. The first was an Irish Red, which is my best to date, and I attribute this to the new conical. I...
