    What to pitch...?

I brewed a Brewers Best Whiskey Barrel stout on Saturday that is burping away (despite a disastrous boilover- but that is another story). I want to follow up with another brew that I can pitch onto some of the yeast cake from the Stout. The yeast was Safale-04. Any extract kit...

    NB Oval Abbey Brett Question

I was looking at this for my next brew" http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/recipe-kits/limited-edition-beer-kits/oval-abbey-ale-limited-edition-extract-kit-w-specialty-grains.html Since the yeast is a "trappist blend" with Brett, do you have to take the same precautions (i.e. different...

My beer has chunks in it!

I'm not talking some sediment, but actual clumps. The beer has been in the bottle for almost three weeks. Will the sediment continue to...

    Rack to secondary

OK. Based on the responses, I'll leave it in the primary. Second question: if I wanted to add some vanilla enfused bourbon to the brew, should I add it to the primary, or wait and add it at bottling or secondary? Has anyone tried adding flavors directly to the primary after about 5 weeks...

    Rack to secondary

OK. Quick newbie question. I'm currently fermenting my third batch of homebrew, Midwest's Power Pack Porter. (First was Cooper's Lager- all extract, second was Brewers Best Imperial Pale Ale- the coopers was overcarbed and weird tasting and the Imp PA is getting delicious). The Porter has...
