    Too Little Carbonation

Well it came in a kit. It was a Coopers Ale... I don't know the exact kind. It came with the dextrose (I think... It was the sugar that made beer taste better) and the extract. I boiled 2 liters of water, and dumped it on the extract and sugar, then cooled it down with 20 or so liters of water...

    Too Little Carbonation

We used a little over a tablespoon and a teaspoon for each liter (we primed each bottle).

    Euro bottles

Why does everything have to be different over in the US and in Europe? I'm stationed here in England, and everything is backwards... I miss the USA. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a different size. All the stuff we get on base is American imports (or exports depending on how you look at it)...

    What happens if...

Leave it in the fermenting bucket for a good two weeks. Seems to be the norm for people around here... Then you will want to leave it in the bottle for at least two weeks. Longer won't really hurt it either way.

    Too Little Carbonation

It's been almost two weeks. I'll give that a try, since when I shook the bottles up (after the beer was already out of them), they foamed up like crazy. They taste fairly carbed (like a Diet Pepsi carb), but don't have a head or anything, not that I mind. Anyways, I used brown sugar for...

    Question on trub

What do you mean by strain the trub? I thought you just threw that stuff out after you bottle or go to secondary.

    Too Little Carbonation

Well, I finally opened my first homebrew (yay!), and it was a bit flat. Maybe I didn't put enough priming sugar... I don't know, my friend was helping me out with that part... LoL Anyways, my question is if it's too late to add more priming sugar. Also, are green beers usually a bit...

    Brewing with Pur water.

The only problem with using the spin on sink attachments is they take so long!!! LoL Filling a 5 gallon bucket with that took me over half an hour...

    Post Bottling Question

Hmmmm... Well, I did what the instructions said to do (they kinda sucked, but it was all I had to go on) which was to boil 2 liters of water, and dump it on the extract and sugar. So yeah I guess I did dump it on dry more or less. I mixed it up pretty good when I started, but maybe it wasn't...

    Post Bottling Question

Boy am I glad this forum is here... :D Anyways, I have a question about what happened last night. I was bottling with my friend (he was pouring sugar while I poured beer), and when we finished, I looked inside the bucket, and there was a bunch of stuff on the bottom. I'm not sure what it...

    Secondary Fermentation?

Hey guys, I was wondering what you would use for a secondary. Would it be the same thing as what you use for a primary? I know that the secondary is for conditioning and clearing the beer. Is there something you have to add to the secondary to get it going? As in more sugar or something like...

    When Drying Bottles

Sweet. Thanks for the help guys.

    Hey Guys And Gals

The instructions that came with the kit (crappy at best) said to keep it in there for 4-6 days (depending on temp) and then make sure they hydro readings were steady for two days. I've kept it in there for almost two weeks, so yeah... I don't know how to, or what to use for a secondary...

    When Drying Bottles

I've been wondering how to dry my (plastic that came with a kit) bottles. I sanitized them in chlorine solution, and then washed them out with filtered tap water. I set them on top of a table to dry with the lids partially off (enough to not really have an opening, but angeled on there so it...

    Hey Guys And Gals

I don't have a hydrometer right now. I'll be getting one for the next batch though. It's a Coopers extract that came with the 5 gallon kit. I'll be bottling it tomorrow!

    Hey Guys And Gals

Hey folks! My names Drew, and I got a beer brewing kit for Christmas. It's just about to be ready to get bottled. I'm looking forward to starting experimenting and eventually finding my own brew. Thanks for having a good forum with lots of info! Yay!
