    So who's brewing this weekend?

Going for yet another Cream Of Three Crops on Saturday. SWMBO loves it so I must indulge her :)

    poppet valves

I had the small end of the spring inside the post but the larger end still won't go deeper enough to get the poppet to seal. Apparently these are the old firestone kegs where the post thread is only 9/16". I have some standard poppets coming from BMW but will hang on to these in case I get more...

    poppet valves

Got mine the other day but they don't seem to fit my pin lock posts. The poppet fits ok but the large end of the spring is too big to go all the way up to make contact with it.

    poppet valves

Oops, guess I should have checked out the webpage first. Now if I can just keep from adding a dozen other items to the shopping cart. :)

Does anyone know if these universal poppets from Midwest also fit pin lock kegs? I take it most in this thead are using ball lock.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewed a batch of a Blue Moon clone last night and if I can get motivated this afternoon might brew another bacth of Cream Of Three Crops. SWMBO loves it so we go through a keg in short order.

    Blue Moon Clone

Brewed my first batch last night using Weyermann Vienna and Weyermann Pale Wheat. I have been waffling back and forth with the grain amounts based on the original recipe, Beersmith and the input from BBB but finally decided to go with Wayne's updated post at #274. I guess my efficiency is better...

New allgrain BREWER in Traverse city MI

Welcome aboard. I did the bucket in a bucket and then added a muslin bag with mesh bottom to it 16 years ago when I started out. Worked good but loses lots of heat. After nearly a twelve year hiatus from home brewing I got back into it with the help of this forum and started right away with a...

    Blue Moon Clone

Thanks BBB, I really haven't been tracking my eff but I suspect it is more like 70-72 % and I generally shoot for a 5.5 gal batch to account for losses between the kettle to primary to secondary so that might be some of the differences. Regardless, I have reworked my grain bill and hops to now...

    Blue Moon Clone

Wow, what an awesome thread. I am just about ready to give it a go with Wayne's last recipe as follows but have just a couple of questions. 6 lbs. Weyermann Vienna Malt 5 lbs. Weyermann Wheat Malt 1.25 lb Flaked Oats 0.5 Rice Hulls (pre-soaked in warm water) Add 1.7 oz Hallertau (3%)...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewed a SNPA clone yesterday before the rains came in. Got so carried away with the late addition hops that I forgot to add the whirlfloc. Had everything cooled before I realized it so, oh well. Recipe looked like this: 10.75 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 93.89 % 0.70 lb...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

My second batch of this is in the keg (SWMBO loves it) and both have suffered from chill haze. Going to try another batch tomorrow and thinking about a protein rest to see if I can avoid the haze. Any thoughts? Also going to tryp WLP001 instead of Safeale 05 on this one.

Danby DAR482 BLS 4.4 cu ft mini fridge

My keg kit from KegConnection showed up Friday so with the new fridge and a batch in the secondary I hit the local paintball park today and over paid for a CO2 fill, but hey, my first ever keg batch is chilling and carbonating as we speak. Haven't taken the front door inner frame off since one...

Danby DAR482 BLS 4.4 cu ft mini fridge

Cool deal. I literally just walked in the door this evening with a DAR440BL. I went to HHGregg this evening to get some measurements on chest freezers but stumbled onto the fridge as a floor model they claim is being discontinued. $99 and it still has a $10 mail in rebate available.

    Hello From Elgin, South Carolina

Hey all, been out of the homebrew game for nearly 12 years but ready to get my game back on. All grain brewer here who likes a good IPA and any of the cream ale / steam beer varieties. SWMBO is your dyed in the wool BMC drinker so I have a challenge ahead of me. Going to jump back in with...
