Zero Foam Head -- Boil Related?

I'm cross-posting this from the extract forum, thinking there's likely a technical issue at play here that has not been answered in the prior thread. In short, I have great tasting & carbonated beer with no foam. Here are some details: "... I've been brewing with extracts, specialty grains...

    Yeast and H2S

Given the popularity of EdWort's Apfelwein, you are likely familiar with the typical H2S production that occurs around day three (or so) of fermentation. I've never encountered H2S production in the fermentation of a beer so this started me thinking about what was going on with wine yeast and...

    Apfelwein Sulfur Smell Apparently Solved

It would appear that, at least temporarily, I’ve solved the sulfur smell issue created by some batches of fermenting apfelwein. This is a workable solution for those who are fermenting in a living space or an apartment. I made a batch of apfelwein following Edwort’s recipe EXCEPT I used Cote...

Paisano's Amazing Ginger Ale (soft drink)

This is an easy but amazingly tasty ginger ale that's full of flavor. You can easily adjust the strength of the ginger flavor using the suggestions below. My kids and swmbo are frequently asking me to brew more. Although it's really good when cold and carbed, the flavors are also fantastic when...

    Oxiclean & B-Brite Questions

Am I correct that b-brite and oxiclean free are essentially the same, correct? If both of these are oxidizers, can someone tell me why they shouldn't be used as sanitizers? Thanks!

    B-Brite just a cleanser?

After getting back to brewing, I am upgrading my practices. I used to always sanitize with bleach solution 'cause I'm old school that way but the rinse is a hassle. I realize that b-brite is a cleanser and not marketed as a sanitizer, but are people using it as a sanitizer?

    Back to Brewing in Mid-Missouri

Greetings from mid-Missouri. I've been brewing with extracts & specialty grains since '91 but have been on a hiatus for the last 5 years or so and am glad to be back brewing. I'm considering AG, perhaps this summer, but I love the ease of extracts. Though I've brewed many a batch, I have...
