    American Wheat Gone Bad?

I am fascinated by this as well. I wonder what caused the color change? I will follow this thread, because I am interested to see what others think. Mike

    Sharing my ******* mess up

Being someone who enjoys most music, and really enjoys blues/ jazz, I propose the name: Brewhouse Rag. Mike :mug:

More to it than I thought.

Feel better, Altrez. The Kentucky weather not agreeing with ya? Mike

Hop bag or loose pellets in kettle?

I use a hop spider. And, using Beer Alchemy, I use the setting for bagged hops. It works great for me. The "off topic" comment about squeezing ones sack made me snort home-brew through my nose! Mike :mug:

Flavor Profile for Vermont DIPA yeast from Omega Yeast Labs

We've used the yeast once, when we revamped our IPA. Living in Vermont made us want to try it. We were happy with the results. We got more yeast character than we did with US-05. More peachy/ apricot flavours, and a bit more haze. No "off flavours " to speak of.

    Beer gas set up

I know this is an old post. But it fascinated me. And made me wonder if a regular ultrasonic unit could do the same thing? Anybody have any experience with this? Mike :mug:

    It started with a kiss...

May very well be the funniest thing I have ever read! I actually snorted beer out of my nose. I suspect the sound might have reminded you of dear old Louise! Mike :mug:

Specific Gravity PRE and POST boil are the same

Sounds like your beer is coming along! That is good news. In future, try gently stirring the wort before obtaining a sample for your pre-boil gravity. Mike :mug:

Witbier Wit Power (Allagash White clone)

Flaked wheat isn't malted either. The flaking only pre-gelatinizes it. That way one doesn't have to do a cereal mash.

More to it than I thought.

Can't wait to hear about it! I've been sampling our cream ale and our sweet oatmeal stout today.

Specific Gravity PRE and POST boil are the same

One of the two readings had to be a mistake. Possibly both. Did you stir well, before taking the readings? Did you correct for temperature? Were you using a hydrometer, or a refractometer? And I agree, you made beer. :mug: Mike

    Cloudy beer

    ^THIS! Mike :mug:

What makes you think you over carbonated it? It looks great, to me! Mike

Beer is extremely clear on top

Correct. But, I have not had any problems with the sediment being there. Mike :mug:

    Beer line question

I did exactly that. And I use that particular dip tube for my super hoppy IPA. It has worked so far. In the meantime, I did try a new (to me) product called Clear Beer Draught System. It is, essentially, a replacement of the dip tube with a silicone hose with a flatter on the bottom end. It...

Beer is extremely clear on top

I cannot see how adding an s- shaped airlock would solve this problem. Nor capping the carboy. In the former, one is providing less starsan to be pulled into the beer. However, one would still get air pulled into the carboy. In the latter, if the cap really is sealing, that seams like it...

    Beer line question

What beer is in the 2.5 gallon keg? Maybe you are being blocked by hops/ trub? Mike :mug:
