How much does taste change from bottling day to 3 weeks conditioned?

My first batch is carbonating at 60F in the basement due to space limitations upstairs. It seems to be working fine. It is producing a good head and also fine bubbles rising from bottom of glass. Question: With this cooler temp how will the recommended times to age in bottle be affected...

    Very First Batch...I have Carbonation!

This is a True Brew Pale Ale kit. First 2 weeks in fermenter at room temp and last 2 weeks in 60F basement. Bottled and left in basement 60-62F. Was concerned that this might be a bit cool for carbonation to start so after 4 days I just had to check. Slowly opened the bottle and there was a...

    Very First Batch Bottled: Questions/Observations

Well, after 4 weeks I decided to prime/bottle. Here is a short list of things that I have wondered about. 1) The odor from the fermenter was the same as when I cooked it. 2) There were many "Floaties" which looked like yeast. 3) Kit was a True Brew All Malt Pale Ale. Still quite cloudy...

    First Batch: Is this normal??

I guess being new at this , I would define "ruined" as foul smell/taste. Flavor being far from what it is supposed to be.

    First Batch: Is this normal??

The instuctions say "Ale Yeast" Packet has been thrown out. Basement is at 60F so did not want to use oil to heat the area. Put fermenter on top of fridge. Did I ruin the batch?? (Temp too high?) Hope not! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! Yes I will use kits as a stepping stone as you said. Get procedures down pat etc. Years ago I had a chance to try some Bass Ale. Very good! Did some Geneology work and found that on my Dad's side my ancestors (Berry) came from England! Sure would like to visit some day...
