First Belgian brew, advice on which style wanted.

Hi Folks, I've been brewing AG for a few years now but I still haven't tried any Belgian styles. I'm still very much new to Belgian beers generally. I'm looking for recommendations on which particular style would be good to try for the first time? Recipe ideas are also of course welcome!

Pellet hop headache brew - seeking advice using these hops

Hi Guys, a couple of weeks ago i did my first brew using pellet hops, well actually a mix of pellet and whole leaf. Up till now I've only used 100% whole leaf without issues. The reason for getting pellet hops is that my homebrew shop didn't have all the varieties I wanted in whole leaf...

    help stir plate !

Buy a new fan, or a new power supply, whichever is cheapest. I have no idea why you didn't get a 12v fan and a 12v supply. both very common and cheap.

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

I finished this build last week. I just have a few pictures left to show. The first shows the underside of the fridge top. You can see the reinforcement which i've had to cut away to fit against the wood. You can also see screws where I have attached rails around the top. Here's the...

    Cheap nano Pumps?

http://shop.solarproject.co.uk/Solar-Project-Pumps-c-2.html These are used by homebrewers quite a lot in the UK, and Australia. Very cheap. Not amazing flow but it gets the job done.

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

The 90 degree fitting arrived which I need to finish off the beer out line so that i can insulate the holes and fit the drip tray fully. Here you can see the line now connected the the external bulkhead connector via the elbow. Next I wrapped the thread and release mechanism of the...

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

I'm afraid I haven't a clue. I already had to get the parts from the UK to be sent to my mother as the only place I found them doesn't deliver outside of the UK.

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

In order to mound the tower I needed something more solid than the expanded foam insulation of the fridge to anchor it to. I got an off-cut of OSB from a colleague which was just the right size for my needs. the plastic top of the fridge is supported by a sheet of expanded polystyrene which is...

Beer Line Length and Pressure Calculator

He reposted the link on page 2 here. I'm struggling a little with the line resistance figures used in the calculations. for example, for 3/16 line (4.8mm) it's 0.1518 .. does anyone know what this means? what's the units?

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

The electronics have been by far the easiest part. I'm using an eBay controller which we're all familiar with along with a probe in a yeast tube filled with vodka. Here's the inside of the thermostat and light unit before I played with it. Notice there are two channels runnind through the...

Beer Line Length and Pressure Calculator

This is great but it does not provide an option for the line diameter I'm using. I'm working on updating this spreadsheet for my needs. I am willing to make other changes which people might be interested in. I am first working on the metric version but if there's the demand I can make the...

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

I bought my tower on Ebay here. It came with perlick 525SS taps and lengths of 3/16" ID hose. I will be replacing the hose to fit in the the John guest system I am using. Because the tower will be exposed to the fridge space, I wanted to ensure it was as insulated as I could manage. I decided...

My kegerator build, two tap tower, external gas.

I recently moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend and we now have space for a kegerator. I started using Cornelius kegs this year but until now I have not been able to easily serve the beer, especially not without using about 8 metres of 3/16 OD line to reduce the needed pressure. I...

Keg pressure keeps rising, what's going on?

Hi Guys, I have a porter which I brewed a few months ago sitting in a cornelius keg. We recently moved and i've had no choice but to keep it at room temperature for about a month (about 25 degrees Celsius (77F)). It's been stored pressurised but not on gas supply. It should be at...

Beer tower for kegerator - John guest conversion

I'm not sure which of these is appropriate. Do you mean a connector which threads on to the outside of the shank using the same threads as the nut which holds it to the tower? If so, what sort of thread is usually used? I guess some sort of US specific thread?

Beer tower for kegerator - John guest conversion

Hi Folks, Soon I hope to build a kegerator with a beer tower on top. I am thinking of getting this from eBay. I notice that it comes with 5' hose for each tap. The thing is, I would think that the hose is the very flexible clear hose that I see you US guys using all the time. I would want...

    Switchin from Picaxe to PICMicrochips?

Rbeckett, What do you mean exactly by "trying to get into the mainstream chip population"? Arduino, ARM and PicBasic aren't "variations" they're completely different product classes. Arduino and PICs are similar in that they are microcontrollers (Arduino is just an atmel AVR) ARM is a core...
