Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

It's like a corney keg. 5 gallons, which is a bit smaller than a typical 1/4 keg. They sell them here in PA. A lot of microbrews only come in sixtels around here. They have a American sanke-type tap on them.

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

Here you go man - it's not an exact recipe clone, but it's close. I bottled this batch in 22 oz. bottles and I'm glad I didn't keg it or it would be gone already. It's got everything - my favorite is the hints of grapefruit. It's delicious. If you like the Two Hearted clone you will love this...

    Sculpin IPA Clone Label

Yep - we are getting more and more Ballast Point beers around Philly lately. I was only able to find 1 case of Sculpin in 22 oz. bottles, but it was too old and I didn't buy it. I think it was $99.95 for a case of 12 22oz. bottles. I heard that Ballast Point is only bottling Sculpin in 12...

    Sculpin IPA Clone Label

Wow - the labels on this thread are really, really good. I'm still learning Photoshop but I've managed to learn enough to make my own labels - most not near as good as some of the talent here. I made a "double" Sculpin clone - juiced up the original Ballast Point Sculpin recipe that I got...

    Pliny substitute in WI?

Just my 2 cents, but I found 2 beers that are close to Pliny the Elder. One is Ithaca Brewing Company Flower Power IPA, and the other is Southern Tier 2X IPA. Not exact clones, but very close IMHO...especially if you can get them on tap. Personally I'd take Russian River's Blind Pig IPA over...

Pliny clone - More Beer vs. AHS?

If you are anywhere near Philly, taste the real Pliny here on Tuesday. I am definitely going to try to hit this event. Sculpin on tap as well...crazy. I'm still trying to sample Pliny the Younger but I always miss it! This place has Elder on tap once in a while, but not consistently...

Let me know how it turns out! Good luck man.

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

Topped off to 5 gallons. I only boiled about 2 1/4 gallons, since that's all that will fit in my brew kettle!

Bottom Up Pouring? Anyone tried this?

Awesome - thanks guys. I will definitely put new 10' hoses on my "out" lines. I would have never thought that was the issue, but now that I think about it it makes sense. I guess the regulator kits come with shorter hoses to save cash, also they had those cheap plastic picnic taps on there...

Bottom Up Pouring? Anyone tried this?

A short beer line could definitely be the problem. I only have what came with the kit when I bought the keg system, which I think is 3 feet. I keep my fridge at around 36 degrees or so because I like my beer really cold.

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

hey bmock79 - not exactly sure what that means. I did a 60 min boil on this beer and it turned out great every single time I've made it. It's always ready in 3 weeks, and gets better in the keg, but doesn't last long around here. You won't be disappointed!

Pliny clone - More Beer vs. AHS?

Same here. It was way too bitter for my tastes, and I love hop bombs. I mean it was seriously over-the-top bitter. I had a serious problem racking this beer due to the huge amount of hops in it, then it clogged my keg poppits. It was all worth it though.

Bottom Up Pouring? Anyone tried this?

Ok ultravista asked for my Dead Guy clone recipe, so here it is. I bought this from Austin Homebrew, which is getting a LOT of my cash lately. I've made about a dozen of their clones with great success. They are not spot-on, but good beers nonetheless. Rogue Dead Guy Ale clone: Grains: 3/4...

Bottom Up Pouring? Anyone tried this?

I haven't tried this, but I might this weekend. Just wondering if anyone had any positive results? I can definitely hook up a tube to my tap to see if this works.

Bottom Up Pouring? Anyone tried this?

I have a 2-tap homemade beer fridge and I have a Dead Guy Ale clone that's kegged. I can't seem to get the PSI right so it's not over carbonated. I have it at 5-6 PSI and it's still dispensing an all-to-foamy head no matter what I do. A friend of mine suggested connecting a 6-8" or so plastic...

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

Thanks for the pics Seven - very interesting. Mine is quite a bit darker than your batch. I brewed mine on 15-Jan, but I THINK I used 40L Crystal in this batch. Sometimes my local homebrew shop is out of 10L so I just use 40L if I stop in there and want to make a spur of the moment batch of...

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

I'm going to buy a sixer of Two Hearted and compare my homebrew batch to it for aroma/flavor/clarity. I really like the 8 oz of Centennial - wouldn't do any less for my own taste, but I think I'm getting immune to hops and need more and more. If you're a hophead like me you will love this.

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

Well I've made this same recipe with 40L and had the same results with cloudiness, so I'm guessing it's not the grain that's the issue, but who knows? It definitely could be chill haze. I always keg condition for 3 days at 30 psi. I give it 2-3 days at 30 psi, then it sits at around 7-8 psi...

Two Hearted Ale Clone - Awesome..but cloudy!

Hello All- I've been brewing on/off for a while now, and have about 60 batches under my belt. Recently I've been getting into brewing all clone beers, since I have so many beers I like that I want to replicate. I have had outstanding results, mainly because I like big, hoppy beers that most...

    Bottling uncarbonated beer from keg?

Hello All, I see a lot of posts/threads about bottling from a keg using a beer gun or other methods, but I have a different question. I wanted to bottle a couple of 22 oz. bottles of beer from a corney keg that I just filled. Instead of racking the beer from the secondary into the bottles...
