    Pumpkin Stout

I'm planning on doing a parti-gyle and make a RIS and pumpkin stout. I was leaning toward adding oatmeal for the second batch but now considering lactose after reading your recipe. Maybe I'll use both. : )

    Brewing with Peanuts

:) I thought I remembered hearing that wheat could help with oil absorbency, but can't remember the ratio. I think I'll work the shellfish into the next batch.

    Brewing with Peanuts

We brewed a pecan porter and double toasted the pecans (put in paper sack to absorb oils) and still had ample head retention. I thought I heard that adding wheat could help with oil absorbency.

    Brewing with Peanuts

Has anyone brewed with peanuts (not butter or powder)? Not sure if I should roast and put in the mash tun or in the boil.

    hazulnuts in brown ale?

I brewed a pecan porter and double toasted (put in a paper bag between toastings to absorb oil) about a pound of chopped nuts (5 gallon batch) and put it in the mash tun along with the grains. The beer was very tasty and had ample head retention.
