Filtering beer before priming to bottle

I filter the cheap, easy way, when transferring from boil pot to brew bucket, and again from brew bucket to keg/bottling bucket. I zip-tie a short (knee high) ladies stocking (panty-hose) to the end of the tube. Catches all of the crap. Never had a blocked keg or floating debris in the bottles...

CO2 refills in West Atlanta, Marietta or Smyrna

Having trouble locating a business that will refill or replace aluminum cylinders - 5 and 10 lb. Looking on the West side of Atlanta and in Smyrna, Marietta, Mableton area. AirGas does replacements, but they only ever have steel cylinders. I would prefer somewhere that does refills, but...

How many taps do you have or

I have five, four normal and one nitro. I have never had all five active at once, maximum was four (nitro + three others).

I figured it out as I went along. Had to scrap one tap box and start again. My guess is that most folks do the same. Key thing is to measure everything very carefully and remember to allow enough space to get the freezer in and out. Also check drip tray placement, mine is a bit too far...

    Nitrogen gas mix

Nitrogen mix requires a separate regulator and tap. The reg is not the same as the CO2 regs. It also requires a Nitrogen tank. The tap (they are expensive $90+) has a special plate in it with micro holes (mine has 5 holes). The Nitrogen is kept at 30 to 35 psi. This high pressure forces the beer...

I have mine set to a 2 degree variance and it does not seem to cycle much. The weight of the lid seals the top quite well, plus the ribbed foam I installed under the ply, around the hole, seals that off, so I am getting very little temperature loss. When it was just the freezer, I got a...

The Ranco probe cannot be placed in water. I just dangle it over the edge of the wood strip, so it's hanging in open air.

Internals: Four bolts are attached to blind nuts in the plywood lid. These are fastened with nuts and four small pieces of ply helping to spread the load a bit. The hole in the lid is sealed off with duct tape. Main CO2 distribution done through secondary regs and two three way...

Back of the keezer. Dimmer switch for the lights and temperature controller mounted on recessed back board. Handles make it easier to remove the back board. Inside of the back board. 2" thick foam that fits snugly into the tap box. Inside the tap box. Walls are all 2" foam. Angled...

My nephew created a logo for my brewery. I'm going to frame that, and we are going to make BOD handles for the taps. The reflection is just that, not part of the poster.

Starting the tiling. Did the tap box first. Some of the insulation can be seen here. Tiles on and drying. Sides were cut to the correct height and glued on last. The entire tap box is removable.

Rosewood. They mix the color into a base at Home Depot. Poly is 'Polycrylic clear satin'. BTW, I used the stain more like a paint. Thin coats - not wiped down. I tried the wiping down on the tap board and ended up sanding it all off and starting again.

I used two sheets of 4x8 oak ply at +- $48 per sheet. The white wood (pine) is quite cheap, but I used a lot. Maybe 40 or 50 feet ? The solid 1x4, 1x6 and 1x8 oak is quite pricy. I cannot remember the cost per foot, you can look it up on Home Depot's website. Again, maybe 40 to 50 feet ...

I used a 30" drip tray. If I do it again I would use a 36". I also have the tray too far back. If I do it again I would cut 1 1/2" off the front tiles, move the tray forward and place the cutoffs behind the tray. The tap box cannot go any further back. And yes, I am actually thinking of...

Not sure if you mean the tap board or the whole tap box. Tap board is 1x6 Oak, actual dimensions are 3/4" (thick) x 5 1/2" x 36 1/4". This does not include the sides. Tap Box (excluding top lip) is 16 1/4" high by 37 3/4" wide. The tile is 12"x12". I did not cut the tile on the tap box. It...
