    Gasket

Going to ask this again, someone out there has to have the answer. Does anyone know what the size of or industry standard size call out is for the faucet to shank gaskets? I'm ordering the internal O rings, and want to get these as well, since I'm already paying for shipping. (Perlick 525ss)

looking for a gasket/oring number or size for this square section gasket. Rebuilding my 525ss taps. Have the other internal sizes, #014 Qty. 2 and #204 Qty. 1. Someone has to have found a compatible size for the shank gasket.

Can I add Calcium Chloride to a kegged beer?

SO, I have been having an issue with my beers, and decided it has to be due to my water. Darker beers with less hops, not as noticeable, but hop forward IPA/APA it became a huge issue. These beers have loads of late addition hops, along with a 60m bittering addition, finished beers have been...

    Simple HLT control

Couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I did this cut/paste hack job of a PJ original. I will use this for my HLT, and just boil with gas until I set up the boil kettle with an element. The only other addition I may go with would just be a 110V led between the contactor and the...

Auber Digital SSR Power Regulator for Wort Boiling Control

Has anyone used one of these? I was looking at the SSVR40A at first, but then saw this right below it. http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=444 I want to build a panel with one PID for HLT, and a knob controlled variable control for the Boil. With the...

    Pumpkin Pie Spice Booger

Ok, so I made a Pumpkin Pie Spiced Amber Ale, which by the way came out fantastic, I know I will be asked to brew it again, likely sooner than later. Spicing is where the odd thing came in, I made a tincture using 4oz Spiced Rum, 1 vanilla bean scraped and diced, and 2 tablespoons Pumpkin Pie...

    Dumping yeast from conical

If I make a roughly 1-2 pint yeast catcher for my conical, and lets say I remove it after about 3 days of fermentation to remove trub and early dropping yeast...... If I put it back on, and it burps a little air back up into the fermentor, is that actually really going to be a problem...

    Inductor tank conical FYI

Just order one of these from Rural King, good price, and my shipping was only $12.55. Thought I would pass it on. http://www.ruralking.com/ace-roto-mold-15-gallon-full-drain-inductor-tank-infd15-19.html

    River Rat Pub

I built a barn board themed keezer, but then decided I needed to re-do my family room to match it. Work in progress, but here are some picks. TV behind the bar is still ghetto, need to build a corner shelf for it, CPU, amp, and cable box. Stacked on a speaker isn't very neat.

    Barn Board Keezer

Well, here is the semi-finished product. You’ll have to excuse the hideous tap handles, I bought 5/16” inserts(should have been 3/8”) so I couldn’t make my tap handles, and had to improvise. This is a Magic Chef 5.5 cu. Ft freezer. The extra space along the right side is able to hold my 20#...

    S-04?

Ok, Here is my situation (not really a situation, just planning ahead) I am planning my mass ingredient order to get me through most of the winter, 8-10 5 gallon batches. I’m only planning dry yeast at this time, and most of what I have planned can use S-05 (may have to do a Belgian though)...

    Miller/Coors home draft

Ok, I'm pretty excited about this option for bottling/kegging (my keezer is full of beef so I can't finish that project anyhow.) I love the portability of this vs. a keg and jockey box, or a box of bottles. I started down this road last night, step 1. Drink 1.5 gallons of coors light...

    Mashing overnight?

I had read in another thread about winter brewing, "avidhomebrewer" had mentioned he just starts his mash the night before in his cooler and then just finishes the next day. Does anyone else do this? This seems like a great way to break up the brew process into shorter sessions. Lately I have...

    Dry hopped light beer?

I had the thought of making a very light beer for swmbo, but would like to maybe dry hop it with something like Sorachi Ace, cascade, or some other citrus type hop. Would this work, or with the lack of malt body would it be totally out of line. I thought it may have a chance since the dry...

    Bitterness Scales?

Wh:confused:en formulating recipes, I have come across Rager & Tinseth Scales. What is the difference, and what do most of you go by? Rager seems to use a greater utilization factor (25.1% vs 30.8%). Right now I use a spreadsheet that calculates both, and then gives me an average. Do...

Adding carapils? How much rice is to much?

My next 5 gallons is going to be a simple cream ale of 6# 2 row, 2-3# minute rice, lightly hopped with hallertauer. If I was to add some carapils to the above grain bill to get some improved head retention, how much would you suggest? Also, what is the high end of rice percentage in a grain...
