Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

See attached document. I believe I adjusted C2 to 45. This is the limit which I believe is currently set at 31 (it has been a while since I adjusted mine)

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I run the same chiller before SS sourced it on two 14 gallon SS Brewtech fermenters simultaneously. In the beginning I noticed the same thing. There are a couple of things you can try. The first thing I did was reverse the in/out connections on the coil (This is assuming you are using the Master...

    Review: SSBrewTech Chronical 7Gal Fermenter

In addition to the wheels and leg extensions, I also have the shelves. This made the whole setup much more sturdy. For me the wheels have been working out OK. On my BME I have the FTSS. It works pretty well. My only comment would be is I have to leave the heat unplugged because during cooling it...

    Review: SSBrewTech Chronical 7Gal Fermenter

I have two 14g chronicals with wheels (including leg extensions as well). My brew day process is to fill the fermenters in the garage and wheel them into my utility room in the basement. I have to deal with a threshold between garage and basement but otherwise have no problem moving the...

    Conical attachment for pressurization

I use the racking port. The first 5 gallons mostly transfer via gravity (I bought the leg extensions and SS shelf), the CO2 basically is making up the void. I have to apply a very slight amount of pressure for the second 5 gallons.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I bought mine direct from distributor before SSBrewtech started selling theirs. I think it is basically the same chiller. So far it is working like a champ. I have been using it for two 14g chronicals. One BME and one standard that has external cooling jacket...

Counterf low chiller, will this work?

I do what you are thinking of doing now with a convoluted (I think that is the term) tube in a tube CFC. And yes the boil subsides for a few minutes, but then comes right back. I guess it depends on boil size and burner. So far I do not have problems with pellet hops. Sometimes I use a stainless...

    Conical attachment for pressurization

I don't do closed transfers. I do "fill" my kegs with CO2 just before transferring though. My beer doesn't last long enough for me to worry about oxidation.

    Conical attachment for pressurization

I just disconnect my blow off tube connect an adapter and use the pressurized fitting for my regular chronical. I also just use a regular regulator turned down low. I didn't buy anything extra for the CO2 end.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

On the BME side I did what you said. However I made sure I alternated the male/female to make sure I put the hoses on the same way every time. I have the chiller output go to the top of coil instead of the bottom which I believe is backwards from what SSBrewtech recommends. My pump was short...

Yep, just plain ole inexpensive pipe insulation. No more sweating.

Chronical Fermenter by SS Brewing Technologies

Since the fermenter is still under pressure when I remove the triclamp I am assuming it is still full of CO2. I dump the hops in and close it back up. So far I haven't had any problems.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I put mine at the fermenter. This allows me to disconnect and roll my fermenters either to the garage on brew day to fill or outside on the driveway to clean. During fermentation I have them in a utility room in my basement. I used silicon tubing and basically have just enough to clamp the...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

You probably could, however the FTSS is a DC motor so I used that. The pond pump motor was already wired for a controller so I used it. I still have the stock pump and may use it for chilled lines to my taps some day.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

The stock chiller does come with a pump however I am not using it. I am using a FTSS pump for one of my fermentors and a pond pump style pump on my other fermentor. The FTSS pumps are tiny and I can see 4 of them fitting in the reservoir.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

Assuming the pump discharge connects to the braided tubing, where do the pump power cords go? I have this same chiller but bought it direct from the distributor so I don't have the custom lid. I like the four return barbs.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

Hard to tell. Website does not mention that there is any metal at all in these fittings.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

These are what I used (tip from conan71 earlier in this thread). Note I have two different Chronicals, one of them is a BME and uses the 3/8" fittings, the other is a standard using a cooling jacket. It uses the 1/2" fittings. MAYBE a drop is lost when disconnecting. Works like a champ! What...

Chronical Fermenter by SS Brewing Technologies

I also have two 14gal chronicals, one of which is the BME edition. I don't have problems with the pressure valve on either fermenter. I can confirm this as I run a silicon blow off tube down to a mason jar under the fermenter and observe bubbling. (I did purchase the leg extensions) When I take...

    Changing camlocks during brewing

I hang on to the silicon tubing and quickly unlock them. The locks don't have enough mass to burn unlike the actual fitting. The silicon tubing is hot but not hot enough to burn.
