    That is true, but for one night not enough bacteria would grow to spoil the beer, since he will be boiling it tomorrow, killing anything in it.

    I think it would cause no problems doing that, since extracts basically do the same but in a condensed form.

    Thinking about trying all-grain brewing

    Who cares if you don't do it perfectly the first time, so don't let the fear of messing up stop you. Just try it and learn from your own mistakes, that will be your best lesson on how to make good beer AG.

    What do you like to do while mashing?

    sit there and stare at it...... :) I spend the time organizing for the rest of the brew day and sanitizing everything for after the boil and cool down

    Beersmith has a "scale" option that will allow you to input a recipe, say that is made for a 8 gal batch and you can scale it to whatever batch size you want.

    Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

    Just finished this setup yesterday, thanks Flyguy. Went to Fastenal and they had the SS washers. I bought 5/8" washers but had to file out the center just a little bit, but went well. I did make a change however, instead of using a steel braid, I made a false bottom.
