    Just thought I'd post this in case anyone had the same question that I had a few days ago... Safale 04 took my 1.100 Barleywine down to 1.026 in two days. I couldn't find too much info on if it would be able to handle this big of a beer. It's still chugin along, just wanted to let everyone know

    if i were to brew a 1.055ish stout with Wyeast 1056 and use that yeast cake for a 1.110 barleywine do you think Id get good results? I'm also thinking about adding champaigne yeast to 2ndary.

    What's the highest abv anyone has sucessfully brewed without an oxygen tank? What type of yeast and what aeration techniques was used? I want to make another barleywine. I made the last one ~8.5% in fear or making something my yeast couldnt handle.

    wouldn't it just be a pound (oats and wheat) ? i dont know too much about them, the recipe was given by a friend. its actually a base for a blueberry brown ale. blueberries arent exactly cheap so Im scared of adding them if the beers not going to be any good. thoughts?
