    Start Hops inside

Hey guys, One thing I learned about hops last year was not to rush it and to take your time with them. Last year I ordered 3 ryzomes of cascades and lost all three. I went to try and dig them up and there was nothing to dig up. I think I buried them to deep and they died and decomposed. Never...

    full size (15.5gal) Keg fermenter

What's up guys. I found a full size keg with a rubber coating on it. I figured that would be a great fermentation vessel. There should be no problems with this rite. I would ferment my 10 gal batches in it.

    Need some airlock help

Yes foil will work fine but if you crimp it on to tight it may stress out your yeast causing bad ester tastes. You don't want that. Whatever you do just make sure the CO2 does not build up to much in the carboy headspace. 3-4 psi can cause problems.

How important to purge 02 when kegging?

Brewing beer is an art, as you know you can't rush art. If you take your time it will turn out great. If you rush you will kick your self. I say wait and flush your keg with CO2. Time in the fermenter will not hurt it. Also this is why I have 2 carboys.

    Need some airlock help

Foil will work but you may want something that will allow CO2 out and also keep dust and other airborne crap out as well. My suggestion is to buy some cheese cloth and use a rubber band to secure it over the hole. This would be considered open fermentation which believe it or not people do all...
