Thank you. Would this be the same for the 90 minute except more hops?

    Were these proper substitutes

    Are these for extract recipes?

    Were these proper substitutes

OK. Maybe I'll save the pale chocolate malt for something else.

The guy helping me didn't know what I was making, nor did he ask. He seemed like in a rush.

    Were these proper substitutes

Hey guys. Went to LBHS for some brown/amber (35L) malt and pilsner malt (grains). They didn't have any, but the worker there suggested these substitutes: Crisp pale chocolate malt as a substitute for the brown/amber malt Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt for the pilsner malt. I just want to make...

    "Skunked" - Truth or Rumor?

I would probably do it once or twice for a set of beers. This is what I actually did with my stout. I wish I waited a lot longer, though. I only waited 2 weeks. I know.... BAD BAD BAD brewer!

    "Skunked" - Truth or Rumor?

Great! So I don't need another fridge just to store beer. I can just cool, put it in the basement then refrigerate a day before I'm ready to drink it. Thanks!

    "Skunked" - Truth or Rumor?

I believe you. But what about changes in temperatures. Does that cause off-flavors?

    "Skunked" - Truth or Rumor?

OK. So it will affect the flavor if I refrigerate for a couple of weeks, take it out of the fridge and store it in a dark, cool place, then refrigerate again? I'm not just talking about skunkiness, I mean any off-flavors, at all.

    "Skunked" - Truth or Rumor?

I know the rule of thumb in these parts (which I'm following) is that we have to age the beer for at least 3 weeks before it reaches acceptable potential. Then you put it in the fridge for several days or so. Finally it's ready to be popped open and you're able to finally try out your creation...

    Looking for Winter kit

I may go with this one, but I want to add some flavoring as well to make it a Christmas ale. I was thinking about all-spice, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, and candy spice. Not sure about all of them but this is my first brew that I'm experimenting with. Any suggestions?

It's all good. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I can't wait to get a nice pipeline going.

    "Nutella" Stout - Thoughts?

Hey Mahanoy. Any chance you've tried this yet? Just did a search on this very beer and this showed up. Very interested in the outcome.
