Would the RedX flavor compare to Maris Otter? Maltier than normal 2-row base but not as much as Munich?

I have the 3500 version, I tried it on the lowest setting - can't remember if that is 140 or 150 - with recirculating water and the temp kept creeping up higher than I wanted. High 150's. I have not tried it with a true mash, that would have much more thermal mass and I would think take a lot...

+1 I also ran 10 gauge with the idea that I might make the jump to an elements/PID/controller set up down the road...but the induction cooktop makes everything so much easier (and probably safer) I don't ever see myself changing it. If it ever dies, I'll just buy another.

I actually have not done many BIAB brews, but the hop additions should stay the same. Maybe you are talking about hop-steeping to mimic the pro breweries whirlpool additions?

That's true, just pull out the IC at the end and keep pumping a for a little bit, I don't think it really takes that long for the trub to get centered as long as everything is swirling quickly.

That's probably a good plan, flexibility is key. This is a 9 gallon kettle, my buddy actually has it right now but I would venture to say mine is about 1/2 way down the kettle, maybe slightly more. I pump/chill thru a Chillzilla then back into the kettle and obviously it works well. Not sure if...

Higher means one less connection to worry about leaking....as long as you get good flow rate from your pump, you should be fine with either location I rigged mine up with a barb on the outside connected to a elbow on the inside with a diptube kit I had

This beer started as en experiment to see if I could produce a quick & easy beer. I'm usually an all-grain brewer but we all know the process just takes 4-6 hours, no way around it. So I wanted to try something - a short extract boil with higher alpha/high flavor hops. It worked out perfectly...

Yeah, I've read it can sometimes be cheap/easy fix like a defrost switch or a thermostat part or something like that...but by the time you pay an HVAC/fridge guy a service trip fee, even a "cheap" repair might not be worth.... I bought the thing on CL for like $60... new freezers, decent used...

I took a look tonight and there are no coils visible. The compressor unit is located in a back corner, I cleaned everything as well as I could - dust and other basement fuzzies :) There's not much else for me to mess with - a couple wires, a couple metal tubes going in & out of the compressor...

I believe it felt warm, no better or worse than normal..... just not getting down to cool enough temps and it's getting that ice on the tops of 2 of the walls.....

That is the one thing I haven't done yet - check/clean the exterior coils. Only because they must all be on the bottom of the unit - or encased in the back somewhere because there are no visible coils on the exterior sides of the unit anywhwere. I just did not get around to tipping the unit...

Pretty sure I know the answer but just wanted confirmation from the "pros" I have a smaller 5-6 cuft keezer that I purchased off of CL about 2-3 years ago. It's a "Crosley" brand so obviously is probably more than just a couple years old. The interior "square" layout allows me to get 4 kegs...

I live by and prefer Paradise but Listermann's isn't "evil" or anything....if they're that close to you, then it's hard to pass up. Especially now with the brewery and Triple Digit and everything going on there.
