Will lactobacillus help this beer finish?

Hey all, I recently brewed a Lambic using a recipe from BYO that's a Lindemans clone. I ended up with an sg of 1.044 and I pitched 2 packs of 1762. The fermentation started well, but stalled out at 1.020. The next step is to rack the beer on to some raspberries and peaches (2 separate 5 gallon...

Hey All, i was wondering if it's too late to trim off some of the bines around the bottom of these plants? I have plenty trained and climbing just fine, and don't really have anywhere else to send them. I realize now that i should have started trimming them back earlier, but this is my first...

Rye IPA/APA Recipe Feedback - All Grain

Hello all, I've been brewing all grain for just under a year now, but have yet to make my own recipe. This is my first attempt, and i would like to hear some opinions or suggestions on this recipe. I formulated this after reading the "bitters and pale ale" section of "Designing Great Beers"...

1st AG batch / feed back on the recipe

Hey Everyone, i'm getting ready to do my first ag batch and i wanted to do a Brooklyn Sorachi Ace clone. The recipe calls for a step infusion mash with pilsener malt. I was a bit intimidated about a step infusion and wanted to do a single infusion, so the guys at the LHBS suggested using Maris...

    Holiday ale question/recommendations

Hey everyone, how's it going? I'm brewing Jamil's Ol' Yule Loggy and it's calling for spices. Any recommendations on the best type of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, or allspice to use to get the best flavor? There's a really good spice/herb shop at a market (Findlay Market, Cincinnati) i'm going...

    Keezer Help, Internal Hinges

Hey everyone, I'm looking for any advice or ideas on how to convert this freezer into a keezer. I acquired a Kenmore 15.1 Cu. ft. freezer from sister and brother-in-law to convert, but the hinges on the lid are internal. Any ideas on how to attach this type of hinge to a collar? Thanks, Chris

How long will carbonation hold in a keg?

Hello Everyone, Here's my situation followed by my questions. I brewed a Russian Imperial Stout that I have been keg conditioning for the last 3 months at room temperature. I pressurized with CO2 and purged the oxygen and have been checking it periodically to make sure the pressure is...

    A fast extract brew

Hello everyone, I'm looking to brew a 5 gallon extract batch for a holiday party i'm having on Dec.11. I'm going to brew this coming Saturday or Sunday (Nov. 6th or 7th), and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a beer that would finish in just over a month. Also, I will be kegging...

    Some questions about keg conditioning

I recently brewed a holiday spiced ale (Jamil's "Ol' Yule Loggy") and the primary fermentation is just now finishing up (it's been 10 days). I'm going to rack it secondary for a couple of weeks, and then keg it and let it condition until December. I'm kegging rather than bottling so i can taste...
