the only problem i would see is running back and forth. if you are going to do it at separate times, might as well just to 50 50 in the mash tun.

Just kegged a Porter, can I add vanilla beans?

just kegged and finished a s'mores stout. i boiled with 5 min left with 2 vanilla bean and racked on top of 2 finely chopped vanilla beans and the vanilla wasnt overpowering at all. vanilla seems likes a strong flavor but its hard to make it too much unless you add WAY too much. The maltyness of...

    Move to secondary?

If you feel you need to move to a secondary (which you don't, its a matter of opinion but i usually do) either hydrometer once a day until it reads the same for 3-4 days, or if you don't have a hydrometer 2 weeks is usually a safe bet.

    Is this bad?

you wont have a very good hop aroma but it wont be bad as long as the recipe is good. if you want to salvage some hop aroma dry hop for a week. there is nothing to worry about, getting sick or anything if thats what you are asking.

Tell me if I've messed up

if you are doing an ice bath make sure it is basically ice water and add a lot of salt. it works really well to take the heat out of the pot fast. kinda like when you wanna make a warm bottle cold really fast.

Damn, first boilover, or "F&^% DME is sticky"

i have a cabinet beneath my stove that lost the knob. so u have to use ur fingers to pry it open. not to hard... until my first boil over that basically sealed that thing shut like a safe. it stayed that way for a good few months until my girlfriend finally got fed up and did a full cleaning...

    brewstand build question

im not sure where i saw it but someone did one of those chain pulley lift systems in their garage. the pulley was attached to a track on the ceiling so it could be lifted and then moved 8 feet or so one way or another. explanation might not be best but i think it would be the cheapest most...

Stone Ruination clone tasting a little weak

you can give it a little bit oftime or as much as you like, but be careful on leaving it for too long. very hoppy beers will start to lose the hop flavor if aged for too long. a lot of other big beers would be fixed over time. but if you feel it is under hopped letting it sit for too long will...
