    Kegging Kombucha

I've seen this touched upon and the answers I've found don't reference any real-world experiences. It seems most people just frown at the idea because an acidic solution can pit stainless. I'd love to hear from some people that have dedicated one of their tap lines to kombucha and whether...

    Doulbe Boil Kettle Screen

I'm currently draining my BK into a fermenter and just having it flow through SS mesh strainer. I'd like to avoid doing this because of the splashing and sanitizing. I'd like to get some input on this design before I run out and buy everything so here it is: So what's going on here...

    Right on, thanks dude.

Bayou Classic Burner KAB4 different heights?

That's what I've been reading. What kind of tools do you need to get that done? Anyone know any other burners that bring the burner a little closer to the pot?

Bayou Classic Burner KAB4 different heights?

I've looked all over for these things and every now and then I find one that has the burner MUCH closer to the pot it's heating. Take a look at this one...

    Oxyclean residue on stainless

Disregard. Should have searched this first. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/what-do-when-you-oxiclean-too-much-149131/

    Oxyclean residue on stainless

Just took apart one of my kegs and filled it with an oxyclean solution (used generic oxyclean). I let it sit for a couple of days and all the stainless has a rough grit all over it. I got some of it off by scrubbing with a sponge so I'm guessing the metal isn't corroded but I can't scrub the...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

what type of cleaner and sanitizer do you use? maybe you're getting a residue in the bottle that breaks down those head forming proteins. if they're not carbonated at all then you're getting a bad seal when you bottle or with the crown caps most likely.

We no need no stinking beer gun...

How long did you have them bottled? My bottles are still wet with sanitizer when I fill them and I fill them with the glass at room temp - many bottles later, still no issues.

    Parti Time!

This is the 5.5 gal recipe for a barely wine that I've arrived at. It will be a 120 minute boil with one hop addition at 60 min and honey added at high krausen: I was planning on making a small beer out of the 2nd runnings, but I wanted some input on another idea. I've read that...

    Veggie fest 2011

The Belgian Strong Ale was 2.5 weeks (2 oz Saaz) The DIPA was 3 days due to the large hop bill listed above.

    Veggie fest 2011

The beer initially mentioned in this thread was dry hopped with 2oz of Saaz. I just finished a pretty aggressive dry hopping of a DIPA for only 3 days including cold crash and I'm getting all grass. This was my dry hop bill: 1.0 oz Magnum (14.5%) - added dry to secondary fermenter 1.0 oz...

    Veggie fest 2011

funny that you mentioned that. i tried it again this morning and it was definitely more of a grassy taste. it's not quite as harsh either. I'm just going to get it carbbed up and set it aside for a couple weeks.

    Veggie fest 2011

I just finished fermenting a belgian golden strong ale. I dry hopped for 2.5 weeks in the secondary (a little long) and now I've got a belgian that smells great but tastes like vegetables. Does this taste fade in a similar fashion to hop flavor/aroma?

    My FULL-ON electric build thread

I like that idea of cutting off the upper skirt! What'd you use to trim it? Do they feel pretty sturdy still?
