    Haier Mini Fridge Conversion

hey man I did the same fridge and am having the opposite problem with temp control. it's almost too cold, and the whole fridge seems more like a freezer than a fridge. Did you find that this happened as well?

    Question on mini fridge conversion

According to my local homebrew store, you need not worry. Some people prefer to put some vinyl tile on the inside but it's not necessary. Some people also do Plexiglas, but that's a pain in the ass to cut. Much like cincybrewer, I bent my freezer down last night. Slow and steady wins the...

    Paint for homemade kegerator

I cant figure out how to put pictures up on this thing, but after building the kegerator my girlfriend got me a bucket of "IdeaPaint" at Lowe's which is basically a paint on white erase board. It looks great and you can detail the beers on tap and any other info. Best of all it comes off with...

    Custom Tap Handles

A while back there was a fella on here who was making customized tap handles from steel. Does anyone know who he is and have his contact info? I know it's a reach but I figured it's worth a shot, thanks!

    Citra Recipes

Looking at the AA of Citra Hops I'm intrigued as to whether or not you could do a brew using this style exclusively? Does anyone have any experience or a good recipe to toss around? I'd love to bring out the fruity flavors in a unique way, cheers.

    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

don't cut it with water! this will mellow out the beer and ruin it! my recipe, utilizing a full boil and much more hops, has really settled and the flavors are balancing extremely well. I'm sure yours will do the same given enough time (I fermented mine for 4 weeks, racking to a secondary after...

Need some tips on cold crashing/carbonating

For two weeks after primary (@68-70), I cold crash ales in my completely dark basement where it stays a steady 55 degrees. After two weeks there I always have nice, clear beer which is ready to bottle and carb!!

    American IPA All Amarillo IPA

had to chime in! made this one last month, utilizing an extra lb of malt, a full boil, and six ounces of amarillo! came out great and is being ravenously consumed by all, even swmbo!

Bottling bucket - to stir or not to stir?

just a sanitation tip for future bottling: assuming you're using an autosiphon, once you've finished using it to rack to the bottling bucket take it apart and stir lightly with the wand end! save a few bits of sanitizer and there's less to clean!

    Bottling emergency!

The soonest I'd be able to bottle is tomorrow night, would that be too late?

    Bottling emergency!

Big problem! I was bottling and my capper broke! I immediately sanitized the cover and reattached the airlock. Is this batch ruined because it was in te bottling bucket with the priming sugar? Please advise as this beer came out great and I'd hate to lose it. Thanks in advance.

so its my first brew and im nervous

relax, it will happen. my ipa I just made last sunday didnt ferment until wednesday. don't worry about rehydrating dry yeast at this point (i feel there are too many sanitation variables for a new brewer) and if it's not working one week later try to repitch some dry yeast. time tends to...

    sanitation method

In using my "thief" to get a gravity sample I always worry about sanitation. instead of using a 5 gallon bucket to use my star-san (which is wasted just for a gravity reading) I was wondering if anyone had a recommended quick and easy santizing method for this. can I spray it from a spraybottle?

adding cocoa to a brown ale

I had some powdered cocoa lying around the house and was considering adding it to my english brown as a little additive in the secondary. There's nothing wrong with a little chocolate, right? My question is two-fold: 1. can I do this in the secondary without ruining the beer and... 2. how much...

    used 2 yeasts

it's all cleaned up now, how about an affidavit from an angry girlfriend?

    used 2 yeasts

lesson learned, got home from work yesterday to newly beer painted walls. however I feel the beer is salvaged as the fermentation was dense and well over the top, so I don't think the oxygen could have gotten all the way in. i'm not the proud owner of a blow-off hose.
