I am thinking about brewing a cask conditioned lager. I have read the wiki on it. Before investing in a firkin or a pin from Northern Brewer, I am wondering if anyone has tried it; likes and dislikes? Recipes? Technique? Any information will be appreciated!

This thought just occurred to me. Is there an accurate way to determine how much or if all the alcohol has evaporated? It seems like you would be "pasturizing" the beer killing all the yeast so that you would need to keg it, let it carbonate and then bottle. jwp

i have ten cases of empty screwcap wine bottles that I'd like to be able to use - does anyone know if I can reuse these and if so, where can I buy new screwcaps? Online is ok if smaller quantities (~120) are ok. Or, can I cork them - and if so, what size corks? Thanks JWP
