    White film on carboy?

    I once read in a university that yeast tend to stick more to the side of a carboy when missing some nutrient... I cant say that i experienced it but if it happen everytime i would try to put some yeast nutrient and see if it stop :oP

    We no need no stinking beer gun...

    i do have a keg that to not have any relief valve i use the tip of a marker pen and press the in post with it to let pressure go... put a scott towel around it when the keg is near full to avoid making a mess! And no its better not bottling right off the perlicks it always make some foam even...

    Setting Carboy directly on ground not safe?

    Man thats some good info.... I think i will experiment as a good alternative to cold crashing. Just remove the plank and earth energy will do the job. Perfect as my fridge have no place to cold crash because of a keg and all my yeast.

    I have to agree ... just drinking my last Nut Brown Ale and its the better than ever It really is a case of "you don't know what you got until it's gone" but what i know its that this last brew is normaly the one that make me go back to my recipe book to write my last tought about that brew...

    A quick bottling question

    Its okay to drink an homebrew from the bottle (I prefer in a glass) Yeast is good for you Antioxidant ect. And if you dont shake your beer you wont drink much.

    Priming Sugar - How much to use?

    Yes indeed could probably explode.... Or foam a lot when you open it. Personally i use 1 and a 1/4 Cup of Dextrose for 5 Gallon

    Pear flavor

    So muddylars have you tried any of the above ?? Just wondering because im about to do a Pear Stout with the Thames Valley II Yeast from Wyeast ..... Any good result trying to get the pear flavor?
