Not homemade, but the best GF beer I've ever had

I had a Green's Dubbel Dark Ale last night, and it is by far the best gluten free beer I have ever had. There's really nothing you can do to replace the mouthfeel so it was a tad thin and it was a little sweet, but great dark rich flavors.

    Aluminum wort chiller?

Can I use aluminum tubing to make a wort chiller? I just got 50' of 1/2" tubing for free and thought about making one. Any chemical interactions or other issues with this material coming into contact with wort? Thanks.

    Grain gelatinization chart

The other day I saw a really informative chart on the different temperatures for different grains but I can't find it anywhere now. I was sure it was on this forum. Does anyone know where that is? Thanks!

    Mellow Mushroom

Kind of GF related, kind of beer related. My wife and I went to a Mellow Mushroom pizza joint over the weekend...really good gluten free pizza; you don't have to call ahead or anything, it's right there in the main menu, and the staff knew exactly what we were talking about. They also have a...

    Oatmeal Banana IPA

I started a concoction this weekend with Oatmeal, Teff, Brown Rice, Agave Nectar, bananas, and cane sugar with 7oz of hops. I'll post the recipe whether it's a success or not...I give it a 50/50 chance of tasting anything like what I imagine.:mug:

    Too much Amylase?

Is there any downside to using extra amylase? The Amylase Enzyme Formula I have says 1 tsp per 5 gallons. I'm mashing roasted teff and oatmeal at different temperatures to see if I can get as much out of them as possible; is there any reason not to add a bit more enzyme to make sure the job is...

    Anyone use Beano?

I'm thinking of stovetop mashing some rice and/or teff, oatmeal, etc. I have amylase enzyme formula, but I was just reading that it is only alpha and not beta. I also read that Beano is beta-amylase. Has anyone used a combination of these to mash any grains? It seems to me (being the uneducated...

    Jasmine rice

My wife and I made a rice dish over the weekend using jasmine rice...my god that stuff has an amazing flavor. Kind of nutty, buttery, floral maybe. Has anyone ever brewed with it? I would love to get some of that flavor in a beverage but don't know if it's just too subtle and delicate to...

This is my most recent label I created for a weird gluten free belgian IPA kinda thing I made. I've been told it makes people uncomfortable...which is what I was going for.:)

    Ginger beer

Someone mentioned ginger beer in another thread so I wanted to throw this out there before I forget. I made a delicious alcoholic ginger beer using most of the normal general brewing methods. I'll post the recipe later. I tried to emulate the ginger beers (carbonated soft drink) I have had...

    So Happy to be Here!

I can't tell you how happy I am to find this site. I've been brewing gluten free for a little over a year now. I used to just make wine but my wife (who was diagnosed with celiac disease about 4 years ago) mentioned how she missed beer, so thus started my experimental journey into GF brewing...
