Another Keezer Thread - GE 7.0cf

Ron/gatorforty: It isn't advisable to drill through the side of your chest freezer as the coolant lines run in the walls. I can't take a picture because it is no longer set up this way. For my setup (with no collar), the kegs were all set up on cobra/picnic taps; so you just opened the...

    Sanke tap adjustment

Wow. That's super disappointing. Thanks for the input, though.

    Sanke tap adjustment

I purchased a few sanke taps off of craiglist (NADS chrome plated type), and started cleaning them up. I noticed that one of the "plungers" (the thing that goes down to engage the ball bearing in the sanke keg), is too long. As in, even in the "unengaged" position, the tap still taps the keg...

    Infection? Help

They've now been in the bottles for roughly 2.5 months (I think I brewed on or around Kentucky Derby weekend -- May 4 + one month in primary). I will check one tonight for taste as well as clarity. Will soaking all my plastic in bleach "cure" an infection? Or do I need to replace?

    Infection? Help

Okay, So my last brewing foray was an Austin Homebrew Anniversary Pale Ale extract kit. I don't remember the specifics (nor does Forrest probably want me posting it), but my details are as follows: Full boil extract brew in Keggle I put wort chiller in during boil to sanitize After chilling...

    Keezer questions

1.) I do NOT plan on framing out the whole thing (otherwise I would build the tank to the side as suggested). On this build, I'm storing it in an odd spot in my garage where vertical clearance is a concern. The more I minimize my increase in height for the casters, the more I can maximize the...

    Keezer questions

I'm working on "refining" my keezer from a freezer with STC-1000 temp controller and cobra picnic taps to a collared keezer on casters with perlicks and had a few questions when looking through these keezer builds. 1.) Is there a decent way to mount a 20lb CO2 tank externally, hung from a...

    Joining the BIAB team

Haha...thank you much. Through my forum browsing (not just this forum), I've developed a (bad?) habit of skipping sigs. Now I just need to figure out how I can do that outside in my driveway. Pardon my lack of searching (I was going to post anyway), what do you do for sparging? I haven't...

    Joining the BIAB team

I'm considering it as well (or at least trying it on my next batch). Any details? Or a link to details? How big of batches are you doing (thanks, kh54s10)? I'm wondering what to do when removing the 12+lbs of 170*F grain from the water (how people are lifting it, what are they doing with it...

    natural carb after long primary

I'm glad I found a thread that wasn't dead on this subject. I just bottled a pale ale that I brewed the weekend before the Kentucky derby (55-60 days). It tasted fine, and I'm pretty confident in the yeast metabolizing the priming sugar (which I boiled in water). My real question is: I...
