    Stop using Irish Moss!!!

We could always take a poll... How many irish moss/Whirlfloc users at HomeBrewTalk have ulcers... I consume more than my share of home brew and so far i'm ulcer free. In fact when I drink I become witty, charming, and sometimes philosophical. Maybe it's a side effect of the irish moss.

    Cheaper to buy or brew?

Just wanted to add my 2 cents as a new home brewer. From the start of my obsession with brewing I've put every penny spent into a spreadsheet, including sales tax and shipping. I've also calculated fuel costs (I use a propane burner for my 48qt SS pot). I've even factored in the purchase of ice...

    Yet Another Kegconnection Kudos

Just thought I would chime in and say I've also had a great experience with KegConnection. My kegging setup came with a busted pressure relief valve, which probably broke during shipping. I sent an email and received a replacement part within a week.

    SWMBO says no to kegerator.

Send her a link to a nice http://www.kegerator.com/. One of these would look great pretty much anywhere, and you wouldn't have to drill holes. I went through something similar with the second fridge, however in my case I specifically purchased it in the name of beer. I agreed not to drill...

    Hello from Virginia

All this snow would have been great to cool down wort. Oh well. I'm still putting together my equipment for 5 gallon batches, so I wont be at the 'rig' point for a while. Experiments with beer... tell me more. Good to know there are local homebrewers stumbling about!

    Hello from Virginia

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I've added your suggestion to my daily routine, along with the extra few minutes it now takes me to 'lock up' the house at night. Addiction or obsession? All I can think about is steps to perfect my process, maximizing brewing capacity, the next brew, beer...

Read this before you buy from Kegkits.com

If you're looking for a keg setup, check out www.kegconnection.com. I had a great experience buying from them, shipping was reasonable and service was very fast. They are currently running a 'upgrade a 5# to 10#' CO2 cylinder promotion (assuming you have the space).

    Brewing my first "Big Beer"

I was just in HomeBrewUSA today... the owner always goes out of his way to make sure you have what you need for a successful brew. I'm working on their Desert Pale Ale at the moment. They aren't open on Monday, but if you call ahead of time they usually make an exception to open the doors.

    Hello from Virginia

I'm brand new to the tasty art of making beer and found this awesome site! Looks like a great place to gain some insight and knowledge. I have a 5 gallon batch of Pale Ale sitting in its cozy primary for about 106hours now... and I couldn't be happier. HI! :rockin:
