    NEIPA recipe feedback

What you have will make an IPA. Likely a fine tasting one. The opinions you will likely receive are gonna be aligned to personal approaches. For example, I brew a load of NEIPAs and basically just use pilsner and flaked oats. I don't think I have ever used any adjuncts other than lactose...

    Been Gone A While...

I put 9 mangos chopped into the boil to promote the pectin haze in the finished beer, and to add some flavor. After primary finished (yesterday) I added 11 pounds of mango puree with the dry hops. I imagine it will sit about 10 more days before kegging. The only remaining thought I have is if...

    Been Gone A While...

Well, I havent been on the forum in a bit, but I did get my first beer in the fermenter last weekend. A mango NEIPA. Pulled the trigger on both the grainfather and the flex tank. Couldnt be happier

    Been Gone A While...

Thanks homie. I sold off my equipment back when I dropped off. So I have to effectively start over. But I’m happy to see the world of electric brewing and stainless fermentation have massively evolved while I was away. I’m looking at a low overhead/low cost way to startup again. I’m currently...

    Not really new - Philly

Ha - this should have been an indicator to quite a few when I was married. First beer will be something light - perhaps a saison.

    Not really new - Philly

So I just got back into brewing after a long personal story - the kind of story where you lose half your worldly possessions and find yourself with more free time once the storm settles :) I used to be active here, but my last post was 01-06-2012, 02:52 PM. Time to get active again.

    My new system (HERMS)

Thanks. This is the false bottom I used. I had to drill out the center hole to let the stainless pipe pass through it. I leave the false bottom in place until scooping out 70-80% of the spent grain, then just pull it out by the pipe, and rinse the rest of the grain out the center hole (after...

    My new system (HERMS)

Yeah, I cannot think how that would work for direct fire. Electric yes. It would be an excellent setup for a boil kettle. Easy draining and cleaning.
