Advice needed for first equipment purchase.

Can I suggest getting a kit with a tap you can mount to the outside of the fridge? Having to open the fridge every time you want to pour a beer will make it damn near impossible to keep a steady temperature inside the fridge.

    should i buy a kegerator?

I force carb as I'm sure most do, but either will work fine. If you prime in the keg you'll just have blast it with enough pressure once filled & primed to seal it properly. Some tips I've learned through trial and error... When force carbing, the most foolproof way is to simply set your...

    should i buy a kegerator?

Do it brother... Relatively new to kegging myself but already can never see myself going back to bottling. Some Kegging pros... - Cleaning/sterilizing & racking to a keg is a breeze compared to bottling. - Beer can be ready to drink within days of kegging (even hours depending on which...

    Keg Life

If you're a stickler for cleanliness and remember to purge the oxygen from your keg, the beer has no reason to go off anytime in the foreseeable future.

Gday all from a rank beginner...

I'm Nick, from Australia, and am now the proud owner of a 2 keg system and newly converted kegerator. Started brewing as a way to save money and keep more of my cash away from the "national purse". (It was driving me mad to know that for every beer I was enjoying from the bottle-o or the local...

    Corbonation question?

Hi, Tried a quick search around the site but couldn't answer these questions for sure... Firstly (and most importantly...) I'm currently drinking a fairly flat tasting glass of beer that initially had around 1+1/2 inches of head that disappeared almost instantly. I wasn't sure whether I'd...

Keg dented in bottom... OK to use still?

Okay so off topic a bit... Is it okay to keep the gas bottle & regulator in the fridge with the beer? The regulator is pretty darned cold already with all that co2 running through it... My home brew supplier said it could lessen the lifespan of the regulator but if anyone has a differing...

Keg dented in bottom... OK to use still?

Well after all, I sent some photos to the store I bought from and I got a reply saying they'll send me a new one and to keep the dodgy one for spares:ban: If any of you guys are in Australia... Check out www.aussiebrewers.com.au Fantastic bunch of blokes.

Keg dented in bottom... OK to use still?

So I guess the problem keg would be ok as long as it's on the CO2 line... but no good for pressurizing beer and then storing off the line? Bit of a bummer really if that's the case so might look into repairing it. Thanks for the tip there mrtrav...

Keg dented in bottom... OK to use still?

Hi all, first post here... I'm an absolute noob when it comes to kegging and I've just purchased a 2 cornelius keg system from a home brew supplier. Straight away I noticed that one of the kegs has a sizeable dent in the bottom causing the dip tube to no longer sit in the centre of the...
